you liberals want change so bad that if a lesbian black woman was running for president and knew absolutly nothing about politics but talked about gay rights and welfare you would vote for her. northstar is right you vote for poeple based on their policys, not their skin color gender, or sexual orientation. its just any gay president that ran for office i would not vote for becuase i would not agree with anything he has to say.

We souldn't elect a president because it is gay or a woman or black, but because we support his/her cause and believe s(he) will be a good leader. People need to learn how to take nostalgia and emotion out of politics, by which I mean if a gay president would do the best job in your eyes, elect him. If the white male strait prodestent would be the best for the job, elect him.

Source please. Being against homosexuality is not a basic moral value. But anyways, there already was a gay president, James Buchanan, so there goes your theory anyways. quote: if we ever had a gay president there would most likely be an assassination.
Every president is hated by atleast one group. There is always the chance of an assasination and you have no proof that the risk would be higher. There are gay politians and they are alive and well. It doesn't matter about that icb. The women's rights movement and the acceptance of gays are two different things. Women were oppressed in the area of work where gays have not had to deal with that as their are [and have been] laws that protect against that discrimination. Women have been fighting stereotyping for more than 50 years now and we still haven't had a female president do you really think people( will let a gay man represent their country?
I think we will have a female president before we have a gay president because of all the stereotyping we still have, I mean women have been fighting it for more than 50 years now and we still haven't had a female president.

although i hold no prejudice myself, i think a gay president could damage americas reputation. For there are many peoples around the world who view homosexuality as...well evil, and anti-god, and...un-natural. As sad as it is, the world isn't ready for a gay president.

I would be really thrilled to have a woman or non white president. When I can vote, I'd vote for a man over a woman only IF I agreed with the man's goals, ideals, statements, party more, and I thought he'd be best for our country. However...I think if I liked the male and female candidates' ideals equally, I would vote for the woman. It's time that women got into the Oval Office, and not as secrataries or whatever! (Though there's nothing wrong with being a secratary...but I think you get my point.)

quote: Are you kidding? That'd be so awesome lol. Man I'd love that just for the novelty. If Bush could do it, Oprah certainly could. Oprah kicks major ***.
lol! We certainly wouldn't be getting into any wars. Actually, I read this somewhere, that this Native American tribe used to be run by women because they brought life into the world and could then decide what do with it, ESPECIALLY matters concerning that of LOSING it. I LOVED IT! It makes SO much sense! And as for gay or woman, EITHER. Honestly, I think BOTH could do a FANTASTIC job! Better than many and MOST of the presidents we've had.

We need a young president. The next JFK...minus the assassination, of course. Or an atheist. Oh, what'd I'd give to see the look on my grandma's face if we had an atheist as a president...

-----"""If Oprah Winfrey became president I'd move to Canada..."""--- Are you kidding? That'd be so awesome lol. Man I'd love that just for the novelty. If Bush could do it, Oprah certainly could. Oprah kicks major ***. It's not unlikely we could have a female president sometime soon. Women are rising in politics and there are some who have gotten to be very distinguished. Hillary or Condi could both have made feasible presidential candidates. However a gay president will have to contend with being a very easy target for those who are religious or conservative, and since gays only make up a small percentage of the population it's not likely. But you can't elect a president who's not qualified for the job based on a certain minority trait they posess. Personally I'm tired of blathering old dudes. The wave after wave of annoying similar old men so attached their political careers has jaded me and now I'd prefer Hillary or Condi as the next pres. America needs a woman.

People aren't going to elect someone who is not formally well educated. Bush has degrees from Harvard and Yale, and is a trained F-102 fighter pilot.
But yet people still call him an idiot. Which goes to show just how irrelevant education is to people. So it really doesn't matter.
