George J. Tenet resigned today from heading up the CIA. He resigned for "the well-being of my wonderful family, nothing more and nothing less." It is sad that this jackyl like attitude in the media and congress to blame Americans for 9-11 and Saddam's actions would lead a great leader to resign because he didn't want his family affected by the press. Is this what all you liberal job-hounds want, losing qualified leaders because of the press and endless congresional inquiry?

you know the same thing happened wwhen Clinton took office. prestigious and highly decorated military leaders resigned from the US army. i wonder why.

The Clinton Administration had been gettin threats of such attacks for years. they chose to ignore them. when 911 occured, it caught America completely offguard.
if Bush was in office when Clinton was and the first bombings on the WTC happened, the twin towers might still be standing.
although the terrorists did do the bombing it was poor planning and preparedness on our oart. Bush was in office only a year and had no time to react.

so people are now using the "9-11 circus" to back up argument as to the real reason tenet resigned. This is absurd. Almost as absurd as using a movie. But the fact of the matter is that it is "journalists" like joey, who can not put one drop of trust in a gov. official that one of the greatest CIA directors has resigned. I blame the Dems for 9-11 because of the wall that the built forbidding the sharing of intelligence among intel. agencies. As far as I am concerned all Dem senators and congresspeople should resign. It is not always the executive braches fault when things happen in this country.

There is absolutley no proof, zero, that Tenet was asked to resign.

They forced him to resign. Not just because of the "leak" but people wanted him out.

I just think it's a sign that more resignations will follow.

Next with Rumsfeld.

The whole deal with the family should be looked at more closely. Usually when higher ups resign, the cover is always the family, unless it was some huge scandal. My guess is that there was something Tenent did wrong in someone's eyes.

You do realize some of the biggest critics of Tenet were CONSERVATIVES from the Bush administration. Or perhaps you were too blind to actually watch the 9/11 committee? And god forbid we try to find out what’s wrong in our system that prevented us from being able to prevent 9/11.
Skip the bull**** partisanship for once and actually look at this situation objectively for once.

As far as I'm concerned, Tenet should be tried for treason relating to Sept. 11. His agency did nothing. The FBI did nothing. The State and Justice Department continue to do nothing.

Not leaders in my opinion, but traitors.
