I know tons of people talk about this all the time. But, I dont hear often enough about what teens think. Please tell me what your honest opinion is on Abortion

People have a choice of using protection. People have a choice of not sleeping with others. But people do NOT have a choice of murdering a breathing (yes, BREATHING) baby.

Let's say a girl gets pregnant when it's not her fault - say, sexual assault. Doesn't it still mean the baby gets to live? Don't we have psychiatric and mental treatmenets these days?

With very, VERY VERY few exceptions, abortion is wrong. You don't want a baby? Don't get laid. Or use protection.

I think girls should have a choice when it comes to abortion, but i think the guy shouldnt always HAVE to know. I mean in some cases its really the best option and i mean you KNOW the girl learned from her mistake . what if she was raped or molested? what if it was too risky and she might die/ people dont think enough about those what if's and i think its high time we ALL did.

This is really a hard question because I think abortion is wrong in every way, but if I were to be pregnant right now, I wouldn't know what I would do. I think most of the time, abortions in teens take place because the teen simply don't know how to talk to their parents and let them know what is going on. Also, many people do things without thinking beforehand, so by the time they decided that they shouldnt get an abortion, it is already too late. But abortion is a big deal and it's hard to tell someone that you're pregnant, especially if that person is very young and have strict parents. But for the most part, I don't think abortion is right because all those lives are gone, and there are the questions of what that lost child could have been.

Abortion is wrong and right at the same time. You know some people wouldn't agree with me but think about this...what if your 7 year old sister got raped and was pregant and she had a chance at losing her life along with the baby's, you would want to save one out of the two lives for in the future when she was married she could have a child too. But at the same time abortion is wrong because if you are immature and decided to have sex and can't take responsibilty for your actions then you shouldn't have the right to discontinue a human living childs life. you have to deal with your consequences. sure if you don't want or can't take care of the child give it to adoption center.

I honestly think that no one but the girl and her family/doctors can make the decision on what is best. We don't konw her personal story, so how can we judge on what is best for her?! Sure, if she was just sleeping around, she needs to have the baby b/c its her responsibility. I don't think we should ban abortion b/c thats not fair to the innocent who are victims. Pro-choice!

Having exceptions on rape and incest when it comes to law is very dangerous. A woman desperate enough could accuse an innocent man of raping her so that she can get an abortion...though it is right to have abortions be allowed to women who were raped etc., there shouldn't be any restrictions on abortions for such reasons, no?

I think abortion is closely related to assisted suicide. If the fetus is part of the mother and the mother has the right to remove a part of her body that allows her to live (chemically remove important cells) then it follows that the mother can remove part of her body that is not keeping her alive. If she is not able to kill herself, then she is not able to kill a separate part of her body such as a fetus especially when health risks make such an action unwise. At least, if assisted suicide is permitted (or banned), this is the logic that could follow that action if one claims that the fetus is a part of the mother.

Abortion is unhealthy to the mother, moreso than pregnancy. I add this because I see someone jumping at me for mentioning health risks.

Personally, I say all this for the sake of debate. I am pro-life unless rape, incest, or health complications are involved, at which point I leave it up to the mother and the doctor.

To tell the truth, more and more young people are anti-abortion nowadays. Lots of people under the age of 45 feel that way because they don't know what it is like to live in a society where abortion is completely illegal...or so my sources tell me...

Yeah, pro-freedom, pro-choice. "The land of the free. . ." Hello? Though, some people do consider it murder, I do not. And don't go flaming me for saying that either. It is a woman's choice. I mean, you wouldn't want to have to deliver a child that you carried because of rape, would you? Do you think it would be easy to feel love towards that child? Every person has there rights, and we can't let it stop here.

Just a couple hundred...I'm kidding. I don't know how many there are but I do know that practically every new member makes a new thread about it somewhere in the YN boards and, frankly, it's quite annoying. The main one that people use is in the "Exploitation of Children" forum and is titled "Abortion is wrong." I suggest everyone who is arguing here to just move it over there and let this thread die. It's annoying for this one topic to clog up forums.

And, I agree with you that we need a new topic to discuss.

Well I would have to say that I am most definately pro-choice. A womans body is her own, and it is therefore up to her to choose whether or not she keeps her baby.

On the other hand, I could not approve of people who use abortion as a contraceptive; if you didnt use protection then that is your fault. But there are times when it is almost a case of the fetus' life or the womans,and in those caes it is up to the mother to decide.
