That being said, if you start drinking water on a regular basis, it does help clear out your entire system...including your pores.

Washing your face twice a day (morning and before bed) w/ a gentle facial wash will help with the build up of pores. . I also use clean and clear Rapid Clear Acne eliminatin spot get and you just stick it on your pimples and it helps dry them up and treat them before they start. Tooth paste. Ok, so you put tooth paste on a pimple. Leave the tooth paste over night and the pimple should dry out. But don't use the gel toothpaste because its gel not paste

I tried AcneFree. It's basically like Proactiv. The problem I had with it is that if you miss a single day, it stops working. I'm getting very close to the point where Accutane seems like a very real possibility.

You should use AcneeFree. Its a brand that even says its better than proactive on the box. It has the same steps as proactive but the actual medicine part has a time-release benzoyl peroxide formula so it works better because it works the whole day, and its only $20.

Eh...natural remedies can only get you so far...go for the chemicals! (and drink water...)

Best Acne treatment? For free! I think that the best way to get rid of acne...is through time...but also to keep yourself clean. Honestly, try to change your pillow sheets at least once a week; wash your face constantly (but not obsessively); DONT touch your face (dirty greasy hands --> touch face --> dirty greasy face --> blockage of pores --> pimples) <-- i noticed that the places where i touch my face the most was where the most pimples are located; dont stress out too much; and DONT eat TOO MUCH greasy food! putting chemicals on your face will most likely harm your face on the end (check the ingrediants, research on them before putting on your face). If you really need somehting...try tea tree oil, but try for the natural kind. Anyways, this is my opinion. I tried going on those pimple medicines and such for years, and the best way i found was naturally. Sun also helped somehow .

My insurance required me to go to certain approved derms unless they were recommended, but my primary care physician wouldn't recommend someone "outside the system" for me, so I went to this guy anyway, and my parents paid out of pocket. He was great about it, he was always giving us discounts, and showing me how to do procedures on myself (even though that was all hush hush...). Once he gave me a needle to get rid of zits and I fainted in the office... But anyway, back on topic...he showed me how to pop blackheads. While it wouldn't be practical to pop all your blackheads, I do it with the glaringly gross ones before they are grown over and become a bigger problem. You take q-tips and start on the blackhead and then slide them apart. You can also use them to squeeze them together, but then you are tempting infection...Just throwing that out there...do it at your own risk...

The Proactiv one is the best overall, if I'd truly make you buy one, but that one. I don't have many blackheads, but the ones I had at the time were cleared.

http://www.sulphursoap.com/ this is good. Also, Proactiv's Refining Mask (this is the only product Proactiv has that I found good) is...excellent. It did clear up everything I had in like one day. The only problem with it is, well, the obvious sulfur smell, and its consistency is like a sandy toothpaste type. There's also an (expensive) product that I ordered here http://911skin.com/original-drying-lotion-by-d-arcy.html . But it is worth it. http://www.zincsulfur.com/Info.html I tried this once, but I've sensitive skin...and it was waaaaay too drying.

Oh, but I am...and I have the lightest skin in my family to begin with. So...my mom, dad and sister are all super tan, and then there is me. Once I get a little bit of tan I don't need to be so concerned with the sunscreen, but I haven't been able to get that tan because I've used spf 30 to keep from burning...It's a vicious paradigm... Celt: Any suggestions of products with sulfur in them? (Even though the smell makes me gag...)

Where exactly are we going to find pure sulfur? Meagan, you are actually quite lucky, as long as you aren't still pale as a ghost or whatever.

The best product that has worked for me? Products with sulfur in them. Yes, sulfur. Don't use anything with sulfur before a date, or anytime when you're going to see people at all (as in, use it before bed or something), because it stinks like a bitch. Really. But, it's gentle like salycilic (sp?) acid, but it REALLY clears up your skin without totally drying it. It's awesome. My most terrible PMS-caused zits were cleared in like two days with sulfur. If it wasn't for the smell, I'm sure it would be much more famous.

Oh...I get it. I didn't really have a problem with it last summer, but I really lather on the sunblock...we don't have anything under spf 30 in the house right now... I've been in the sun tons this year already, but my skin is still so light! I am SO surprised I haven't burnt to a crisp yet...I usually do at the beginning of the summer. I've been using spf 30, but unfortunately that doesn't let any sun through, so I haven't built up that resistant coat of pigment yet, so now I am still stuck slathering on the spf...sigh...

No, I'm saying if you use it the night before a day at the beach or whatever, it's like you didn't even put sunblock on... And yeah, it's a PITA...
