Let's just say that people are "born" gay. People can also be born with a tendency to be alcoholics, but they choose to avoid the pain, discrimination, and risks. If being gay is hard on people, why do they choose to act on feelings they were born with.

I would have to say that the people who are being discriminated and hated, truly believe that there beliefs are more important than the cons that come with that belief.
