I want to hear from people who practice yoga, does it really help? I also want to give and receive advice on howing to keep our bodies clean of unhealthy food.
Well, I can't tell you anything about yoga, but I can offer so tips on how to keep from eating to much.
1. Brush your teeth or drink water when you start getting hungry and it's not quite time for your next meal. (Sometimes you will have just eaten and still feel hungry, it's not really hunger pang) 2. Drink water during meals, it will fill you up faster. 3. Avoid watching chef shows, most of the time when a person watches this show they will think 'mmm, that looks good, I think i've got the stuff to make that.' and then go and make it right before supper, spoiling themselves. 4. Use the computer when you feel hungry. If you don't want to eat quite yet then use the computer. People usually don't eat around the computer.

When it comes to yoga all I have to say is LOVE IT! I love yoga. Everything about it is very claming and really helps to keep me limber and flexible. It also helps to clear your head. Yoga is one of those things that you don't have to worry about doing it right. You do the poses and transitions at your own speed and your own way. If you are not too felxible when you start than don't worry about twisting yourselves into pretzels just do whatever you feel comfortable with. As far as keeping your body clean of unhealthy foods. Well all I do is not eat a lot of junk foods ( chips, cookies, candy, etc.) I drink only water and I did this detoxification for your body by this one docter ( it's a book featured on Oprah and it really works!) Not only those but sea salt baths and wraps ( which you can do yourself... real easy ... e-mail me to find out how) keep your body free of toxins.I still enjoy great foods but I think about respecting my body alot.

I think yoga is a very nice way of excersising, I can tell you one thing, it definately worked well for me! Me and my sister would do a 20 min. yoga practice before we went to bed every night. It was like reading, it calmed me down alot, and I felt tired, because it was quite a bit of work too! I haven't had time lately to do it, but it was really great when I did...And, when school starts in 2 weeks again, I think I'll start trying to get in a routine of doing yoga every night again...

if yoga wouldnt work, i wouldnt be as strong as i am now. but if you do it once a week, itll do nothing. duh. but doing it every day works. as i said, it depends on what type of yoga you use. kundalini yoga, for example, is based on relaxtion with the voice, so its not exercise at all. but hata yoga (commonly known as power yoga0 is hard.

Im not into this whole spiritual thing but I have a Yoga tape that I use about 3 times a week. I continue doing it because I love how it feels after I have finished. It is basically like stretching for 40 minutes. Might as well try it, you dont have to keep doing it.
I have no problems with eating so I cant really help ya with the other questions.

No, I've had much success with normal excerise regimins, and I'm not going to waste my time with something that's completely unproven. Most people I know who take yoga seriously also take mysitcal forces seriously. These people are mislead.

My opinion on yoga: It's glorified stretching. Studies have shown this. Actually, any streching position looses it's effectivness after 30 seconds or so.

yoga has changed my life. its not only physical exercise, but its also spiritual. and when i say spiritual, i mean that yoga helps you listen to your body a lot, and appreciate every inch of your body. it depends on what type of yoga you take though. it also improves strength and flexibility. -arianhorn
