I'm not joking..............
I deserve to go to Hell and if God wants me to go to Heaven (Which I highly doubt that) then I would beg God to take me to Hell and leave me there.
I'm ready to face unbelievable pain and all that stuff, I deserve it all because I'm such a evil person and I want to be punished for my wrong doing.
Bye n Have a nice day

it's really all about what you're comfortable with. i just don't feel right not looking nice for a service.
for stuff like youth group, i do wear hoodies, or whatever i wore to school. god won't strike you down, and i highly doubt you'll be going to hell, teddy.

I think theres a happy medium somewhere. I don't think its appropiate to wear really revealing, clothes or torn things, stuff like that, but i certainly would never hold it against someone! going to church is going to church, and thats what most important. The youth at my church wear wide ranges of clothes, from dressy stuff to jeans and t-shirts. unless its real extreme, i don't think it matters

The adults at my church are just thrilled that any "youths" showed up! All I ever wear are my jeans and tee shirts, and most of my friends are the same way, they wear what they would on a regular day. I even have one friend who comes to church in her pajamas occasionally. i say hey, go for it! I think God is just happy I made the effort to give up 4 or 5 hours of sleep so I could come spend some time hanging with him at his house, as I like to put it. lol.

I already had a feeling I was going to Hell so there's no shocker there. Now the question is there really a Hell? I believe so and I surely will be going to it. Bye N Have a nice day

I am pretty sure the last time I checked that the bible didnt have anything to say about wearing nice clothing to worship the lord and if you dont then he will strike you down!

The tradition of wearing nice clothes to church was originally motivated by a want to show God your respect. Now it's sort of a "My parents made me" sorta thing. My mom is sorta ticked at all the youth at my church because they dress in jeans and t-shirts and really use church as a way to socialize and stuff. I say, hey, that's fine, if you wanna present yourself to God every week looking like someone who barely had time to bursh their teeth this morning, then go for it. I notice it's mostly Christians on here (with the exception of gemini) but I'm wondering what other religions wear to their worship? I have absolutely no clue about any of that kind of stuff and I'm rather curious. Do Muslims dress up? What about Mormons? JWs? Jews? I know I sound really ignorant and stuff, but Wiccans don't go to church right? I don't know! LoL but tell me! Lots of love, Lynne

I think the reason people say to look presentable for church is to show respect for God.I think myself God only asks for our real respect, not attracting attention to our nice new dress or something.I go fancy wheni feel like it, be it for Church or whatever. But just getting up early and going to church shows enough respectin itself, considering that you really just want to sleep.

I go to a Christian church. I'm not Christian though, just go to that church to study.
Point Being: I wear my hoodie inside the church and they are fine with it. They don't say anything.

what ever u wear doesn't matter. as long as u dress yourself nicely and u feel comfortable.my church doesn't care about the way u dress.
i remember the last time i wore a dress was in gr.2.

it's just something i was brought up with. it's sort of a respect to god thing. i really don't know why, but i just think it's right to look nice. i'm sorry i don't have a better explaination.

Now here's my big question to everyone who answered that it is appropriate to dress up for church, why? Why is this important for your worship of your own individual god or expanding your spirituality. In response the short shorts, if they were short enough to be plain offensive then of course they're innapropriate, or at least in public, but why would it be a problem to other people worshiping...unless they were so short they caused a distraction

i always learned to dress up for church, and i still feel that's how it should be. i was recently on a choir trip to hawaii, and a bunch of girls on the trip were wearing rather short shorts to the church service we went to. i thought that was rather inappropriate. i don't think that you have to wear a suit and tie every sunday, but you should at least make the effort to look nice.
as for stuff like youth groups, it's quite relaxed at my church. we usually wear what we wore to school. casual jeans and t-shirts/sweatshirts. nothing skanky though.

When I went to my Catholic Church when I was Christian, I was required to wear a dress/skirt, but I wore shorts anyway. I got reprimanded, but never had to face any major repercussions.

At my church, we usually dress up on Sunday mornings, but on Sunday and Wednesday, I usually wear a jean skirt and t-shirt. But at my school's church, they dress up for basically every service.
