There is no good reason why Marijuana is illegal and alcohol is legal. If you want to look at deaths indirectly and direct the ratio is at least 300/1. If you want to look at health problems from long term use. Let's see if you can drink alot of alcohol every day for 2 years and still able to use your liver. Well Me and a lot of other people have smoked for that long and sorry but zero reprecussions that I can see at the moment. I've been clean for about 4 years but it is still ignorant for it to be illegal.

If you really want to save people keep the freakin gangs and drug lords from getting money and killing people all the time. If it was legal I most likely wouldn't smoke because I have better ways of enjoying life at the moment but please somebody give me a good reason as to why marijuana is illegal? Because I have never heard of one yet.

You know you can eat pot. They make brownies, butter, cookies, milkshakes, anything you can think of.

I'm not arguing for/against this but the other side of his argument would say "It hasn't killed anyone because they can't get it without paying a lot for it, and that's why no one has OD'd on it, either." or "In some states, those who take it for cancer are not doing it illegally (i.e. Alaska)." Someone would also sa "Cigarettes & alcohol kill from long-term use, and no one has studied marijuana's long term use very well." and "If people got stoned as often as people now smoke cigarette, it wouldn't be an improvement."

Well personally I thing it should be leagalized, considering that it has never killed anyone and you cant over dose on it. I mean every day you hear about people dieing from Ciggeretts and Alcohol, but you never hear about Marijuana killing someone. I mean yeah it has been related to deaths only because drug deals go wrong, but thats it! LEGALIZE MARIJUANA!

Yes, I agree with MalibuBarbie6088. If they want to kill themselves then go ahead. There has been actions trying to stop smoking but it doesnt really help. Smokers still smoke. I voted for marijuana being illegal because I have a right too and I dont want to sniff it second hand.

artfulrain- it matters because the people who are smoking and drinking under age want to keep doing it but dont want to get caught .lol

ok think about it...you know how they say history repeats itself? well, that statement is being proven as we speak! Let's take a look back in the 1920's (I think)-the Prohibition...ban on alcohol. it worked for a very short time and then people found alternate means of getting their alcohol...bootleg and other illegal ways of buying/selling alcohol. The Prohibition was called off after awhile (i dont remember how long it lasted) b/c it wasn't doing any good!! Americans do what they want despite what the law says! The government gave up, and they should give up on this too b/c it's pointless to fight the inevitable. besides, marajuana might not be good for you, but neither is alcohol...bad in different ways but if people want to hurt themselves why does it matter whether they drink, smoke, sniff, or inject themsleves to death?

If you think about it, it's the people who are already smokeing it that want it legal. Just like the people who want to lower the drinking age, they do it already so why dose it matter. They will just keep doing it no matter if it's legal or not.

Marijuana, is the biggest cash crop in america, even though it is not legalized. I think america is stupid not to get in on the cash. I think the whole marijuania being illegal is stupid.. Specially the war on drugs.. The billions of dollars spent on the drug war, paid for more drugs to be brought into the united states... makes ya think huh?
