okay, big question... does the natural law outweigh probability law?

let me rephrase.... a cat always lands on it's all fours, and buttered toast always lands butter-side down. Assuming we won't get sued by the ASPCA and PETA, what would happen if we strapped a peice of buttered toast to a catt's back? how would it land?*

another example... a man has rotten luck. he's been walking under ladders, breaking mirrors, and stepping on sidewalk cracks all day. but would he still be able to win at the crap table? the throw is still a one out of six chance, does his bad luck enforce that he'll never get his winning roll?

what i'm really asking is if there might be this underlying set of rules that nobody's been able to find or explain. the same set of rules that say that if you see a absolutely flawless beautiful woman, on the street corner, and she winks at you, that automatically means you'll never see her again in your life.

wether you want to call it karma, luck, or nonsense, what do you think?

*My friend says the cat will probably land on it's face.

Good and funny theories but superstition hardly qualifies as 'laws' of any sort. the cat and toast thing is good thinking and the cat part: proven but the toast...simply coincidence. I was lucky, a few weeks ago i dropped toast w/ butter and i was so mad but it landed dry side down and i ate it! so the cat will still land on its feet; sorry to ruin your fun.

Ok a cat will always land on its feet unless it has a medical condition or doesnt have any feet. The toast has no effect.

I have stepped under ladders, broken mirrors and I even own a black cat. I have considerably good luck.

You are a very interesting person...
But I like your thinking...
