Telekinesis aparently comes from a state of ind at can be worked towards (see my other post with web address) but with the David Blaines of the world it can get a bit hazy. Also the con artists attribute to this as well. They pretend to be something they are not and when they are found out they take a little bit of the beliefs and trust we had in the act. It is built in to us that there should be a way to explain it throught science and other stuff so how can we get into the state of mind that is needed when todays society tells of sceptisism is a good thing. To Penny i think that it is cool you have dreams like that and to the guy/girl who believes in teleportation Orson Scott Card's Xenocide which is Third in the Ender series has soe very interesting veiws. But it is advised it read the first two (Ender's game and Speaker of the Dead) before trying to read the third. Shameless pluggin i know, BUT HE IS SO COOL.

My brother calls me the psychic because I have psychic dreams. I have always believed in telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation. People have always thought of these as fake attributes that one forms from their imagination...they're wrong. Yours, Solemn

ok everyone dont take my love for David Blaine too seriously!!! i just think he has a lot of mental power, and is a skilled ilusionist. I do not know how is he able to do the things that he does. Thats it! Also David Copperfield is very good, I saw him about two years ago, the show was great.

Hey Penny! Wow, if you dream about things that come true you're psychic. That's so cool! I think that 'mass healings' are probably a scam aiming to get money out of people. Can't know for sure though. Bex

what do you all think about thoughs people who claim to have healing powers? I know americans take it really seriously. We watxched a program on it showing these massive crouds of people that are maraculassly healed by a man claiming to be doing the work of god. SOme scientists proved that it was just the atmoshere and all the excitement that reliesed some kind of natural painkillers in the blood allowing masses of people to give the apperiance of being healed. I think it is wrong because they acctually ask for very large donations and many of the people who attend these seminars believe they 'have' to give money to receive healing form god.

I am also very interested in telekinesis. i am also interested in the meanings behind dreams. If you dream about things that come true reguarly does that mean anything important, cos i've been haveing some very strange dreams lately. it never really botherd me before and i didn't tell many people but then i was reading this book and thought it was abit strange, does everyone get that or am i just strange ?

David Blaine and even more that english berk on the telly are so annoying. They act like they are really mysterious and "all-knowing" and then they make one of those cheesy "this is how it is done" shows to get more money. I believed there was some kind of magic behind Blaines act until i saw that it was just logic and that he was just another person who is smarter than most people. That is okay. But the pther guy who is british is just generally annoying because he just thinks he is clever when it has already been explained by david blaine

Morphic resonance: Fits in with Remote veiwing and Zero Point Energy. Zero point is the theory that there are vast, theoretically infinite, amounts of energy in hard vaccum. For all intents and purposes, Zero Point exists, and scientists have harnessed it to move small nano-scale see-saws and other simple machines, at least according to Popular Mechanics. quote: Well did you all know that there is a society in the US that will give something like a million bucks if you can SHOW them something supernatural!!!!!
Yeah, it was started by The Amazing Randi, He's one of the last great skeptics, Carl Sagan was one also. The deal is that if anyone can scientifically prove (repeatedly and acurrately in controlled circumstances) that they have supernatural powers then they will be awarded one million dollars. No one has been able to prove this because "supernatural" powers don't exist. There are things that appear supernatural, but can be explained by science and hard facts, or new theories. Remote veiwing and Morphic resonance aren't exactly supernatural. quote: But i do believe in David Blaine.
Believe that he is a skilled illusionist? or that he actually has the power to levitate and whatnot? I can levitate and have gained the same reactions that he showed on that TV special. Except all this trick is is simple body positioning and a skilled and dexterous pair of feet. Where they actually show him coming completely off the ground, he was being lifted by cables. The spliced the people reaction to the foot trick onto the cable lift. Skeptic MagazineThis site has many good articles, including one that explains how John Edwards fools people into beleiving he can speak to the dead.

Hundreth Monkey Syndrome "Wild monkeys on an isolated island in Japan were introduced to the sweet potato. Unfamiliar with this new food they were unable to cope, getting them covered with sand and dirt. Luckily there was a monkey genius in the community who washed the potatoes in a pool, and then ate them. A ritual which was gradually adopted by the others. At a certain point, something quite extraordinary happened. The habit suddenly and spontaneously occured, without any rational explanation, in several other isolated and unconnected monkey colonies." The Blue T*it syndrome "The blue t*it was the first bird to peck the metal foil tops off milk bottles to get a drink. This scam was first recorded in Southhampton in 1921 and by some 20 years later every blue t*it was at it. This behaviour did not gradually emanate or spread out from Southampton but arose suddenly and independantly in random places all over the British isles. Those who study blue t*its can't account for this. It can't be explained by t*its passing on the information to other t*its- they dislike travelling." Both quotes were taken from 'The Art of Looking Sideways'. The phenomenon is called morphic resonance. I wish I could show you a picture from this book. It shows the pictorial languages of two different peoples who lived on opposite sides of the world to each other, the populations of Easter Island and Indus Valley. They lived many years apart. Easter Island is in the middle of the pacific and Indus Valley is in the north of Pakistan. This was way before any kind of long distance communication, in the 13th century on Easter Island, and there are roughly 2500 years between the two civilisations, yet the two languages are AMAZINGLY similar. Almost identical, like two different drawings of the same thing. I find it very hard to attribute this to co-incidence. It seems that humans have morphic resonance too.

I believe in quite a lot of it because as bextherex said our mum has had a few psychic experiences and I know she wouldn't lie!
I reckon it might be something left over from ancient times or something, when people didn't have language to communicate, a way of sending out a 'danger' signal if you were in trouble, without the use of words.
"A Lapp can telepathically communicate over a vast distance with another Lapp, walk a few hundred miles, and then meet them under a particular tree." -Alan Fletcher in his book 'The Art of Looking Sideways'. It might have some kind of tracking purpose, left over from when people roamed around in tribes.
But I just can't believe all of these happenings are 'myths', I think they're just hard to explain. I'm sure there's some kind of scientific reason behind the phenomenon but it hasn't been discovered yet.

I don't know that it's necessarily your mind building power, I like to think it collects it. Some of us are physically efficient and therefore use up most of the energy that we have. I think that the power for telekinesis comes from within the body and it is sort of harnessed and then used by the mind. The question is, can it be reproduced in tests? No one is really sure. Telekinesis sort of fits in with Einstein's theory that if the human body would harness all the energy that lays dormant within itself, it is quite possible that we would no longer need our bodies. Hint: There is no magic
However...
I've had a bit of experiance with Remote Viewing, it's been described as a kind of quantified and standardized telepathy/ESP. I've started off practicing on a few website that offer target pictures. For example, there is a web page with a hundred or so links on it, each a very specific photograph. The chances for guessing the picture are virtually prohibative. You preform a sort of, for lack of a better word, medatation, think of your "target" and you form an image in your head. Write it down, click on the link and compare what you drew to the picture.
I've done it about 50% of the time, which freaks me out. According to most "authorities" anyone can do this. All I did was follow a short set of online instructions, and I now can use it to "guess" which cards should be picked in card games, for the most part. It's not perfect, but it's interestng.
If this is possible (it's basically only using your brain to tune into certain "singals", all of which are present in basic physics, ie. gravity, heat, etc.) Then I could see telekenesis happening too. However I'd have to see a good explanation as to how your brain would create and project sufficient energy to move or bend objects.
But magic, magick, auras, and your common psycic are unfounded. "Clairvoyants" like John Edwards use a bunch of very unspiritual techniques that are well known and used. Skeptic magazine had agood article on this.

I believe. I have actually been working on it myself. I've mananged to be able to channel energy between my hands and form it into a ball. It took me a couple of months to do this and it isn't very strong but it's there and I think it's really exciting. I say if you want to try, go for it!

I think they exist but I haven't seen proof of it yet. I believe in psychicness because my mum's a bit psychic. I think there are things we can do that haven't yet been explained.
How do you build up these powers, then?
