I'm a New Ager, and every time I tell a Christian, they freak out. PPl think New AGe is evil , but it's the whole contrary. They say "it comes from the old occult religions". Atleast I ahve a mind of my own and am free, not hooked up on some religion that says that being gay/lesbian/bisexuality is evil and that I'm "going straight to hell". Geez, its getting annoying. So, calming myself down, why do christians think New Age is wrong when all we want is peace and love? (oh, and if you are a New Ager or want to find more about the topic NOISEmail me).

i don't hate new agers. i have NOTHING against "differences" nonchristians talk about what if we were back where all the christians went nuts and started killing people who didn't believe them. I would be one of the people they killed even though i am a christian. the thing i DON'T like about it is it's not following christ. but i don't hate any new agers.

HA! Jokes on you, I don't put up christmas lights!Christmas to me and my family revolves more around celebrating Christs birthday. Were not extreme christians we do give gifts Oh and for future referance Haloween first started out when people use turn off all lights and stay inside and I believe put out candy so that demons would leave them alone.

Interesting fact...
Those Christmas lights you put up are actually part of an old Pagan tradition celebrating the winter solstice. Luring out the light, get the longer days going sort of thing...
I don't know much about new age beleifs but I think gaianism is hella cool

That's funny, but no, Sorry to say I won't see you in hell. I'm saved and I know I am going to heaven. Sin does not send you to hell, that's the whole reason Jesus died on the cross for our sin. However I did not pass judgement on this cult. I said it sounds crazy from what I know, and then I asked about what exactly it was to clarify my knowledge on the subject, because from what I know some forms of new agers believe you can become a god. And also I hate to break it to you but Christianity is not a cult, a cult is a devoted attachment to, or extravagant admiration for a person, principal, or lifestyle, esp. when regarded as a fad. It dosen't matter what religion you are as long as your saved. You can be muslim, mormon or whatever as long as your saved however that's rare. If you research christianity I will research whatever you believe in to learn more about it.

Mizzo, you're going to Hell for passing judgment.
Note: Christianity is also a cult.

I'm a christan and frankly what you believe in is a know cult. And the reason christians tell you your going to hell is because we believe that if your not saved your going to hell. From what I know about the new age movement it sounds crazy. What exactly do you believe in?

At the risk of sounding stupid, what the heck is "new age" anyway? how can i be against something I don't even know anything about other than the section of the bookstore?

Sorry, CelticNewAger, but I am a Christian. I don't believe in your religion, but i still respect it. It's okay if you believe in it. I respect it. I think others are freaking out about it because they accepted Jesus without really knowing what he was like, and what your best values are. I think you are great for having your own convictions and religion, and I respect that. I don't hate your religion, either. It just has some values and beliefs that I don't agree with. I would appreciate it if people stopped judging Chrsitans, though, like we are some kind of haters. We don't think non-believers are spawn of satan, and we certainly are not supposed to criticize others for their beliefs. So before you label all of us Christians as "haters", think about this: We are all individuals, not just one giant unit body that thinks and acts the same. I think your religion is all right. Sometimes I just get frustrated because it's hard to fight for your religion.
Bye n have a good day

I know quite a few new age practicers. I happen to know that they don't worship the devil or kill small creatures for any form of mysticism. I don't agree with what they do, but I don't burn them.

I don't see how any work could be finished because this thread has accomplished nothing. People still have misconceptions of just about every religion.

God did not flood the world, and civilization never "started over." And learn how to spell Moses before spewing your incoherent logic again, please.

quote: Again your taking this Literally, and not balancing it with logic and reason.
One needs logic in order to decipher meaning in the Bible. You cannot simply say, "Well.. this is the ONLY way god meant to 'say' this," and then when someone challenges that with a different point of view, say, "The Bible can be interpreted many different ways."

Well, first of all, Moses was quite some time AFTER the flood. And Wasn't Noah a descendant of Adam and Eve?
