The Bible was written in a time where the world was thought to be flat, when witches cursed people for looking at them the wrong way, and when gods were fabricated in order to explain what people could not understand. It was not written by God; rather it was inspired by God. Jesus was simply a philosopher who preached his own beliefs which has allowed Christians everywhere to twist his words around in order for these Christians to treat others with hatred and malice. Exodus: 34:16: "And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods."
It is apparently the women's fault for the male "pimps," if you could call them that. God blames the females who "go a whoring" and make the males dop the same, as well.

Exodus: 22:18: "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." This is the verse used to convict and hang women in the Salem Witch Trials in Massachusettes.

When a women gives birth to a baby girl, she is unclean for 14 days and must purify for 66 days. But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or dove,
for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest: (Because having children is sinful.) Who shall offer it before the Lord, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.

And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

1) Having children is sinful.
2) Having a female child takes twice as long to regain purity.
3) The mother cannot touch anything.
4) The mother may not "come into thew sanctuary" until she is pure again.
5) She has to offer a sacrifice to regain purity.

These are from the Old Testament, which is half of the Bible. Therefore, these passages came from the book that everyone holds so dearly.

I think it's more along the lines of that Christianity thinks of itself as the one TRUE religion (as many other religions do), so they want everyone to follow it. Some people go about that well, some don't. Not all Christians are going to hate New Age, not all are going to be okay with it.

And about the women issue. Many religions do look down upon women. Things are a bit different today - but not worldwide yet. Historically though, women were considered evil and inferior.

Old Testament, so there were no Christians. That part of doctrine would have been done with once Jesus was put on the cross, since he ripped the Tabernacle's curtain in twain. The spirit of God then inhabited all of the Tabernacle for everyone to witness

The bible didn't say burn the witch. Deut. 18:10-11 says, "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead." See, did it even say about killing the witches? God just loathes sorcery.
