As you all know (or should know) I am gay. I am also (despite my rants about Christianity) a devout Christian. After a lot of prayer and meditation I've come to one conclusion. God gives everybody tests of faith. God made me homosexual so that I could overcome it and through that come closer to Him. I've decided to live a life of faith, trial, and tribulation. I do not deny that it will be difficult to resist temptation my entire life. I believe that God will be there to help me through it though. My hope is that this story will inspire someone to pick up their Bible and evaluate their life. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and for every sin we commit he endures that much more pain. I refuse to consciously burden him anymore. I love him far too much.

It's called celibacy, and straight monks have practiced it for centuries.

The way I see it, a person who is gay can choose not to act on their sexual and romantic feelings towards members of the same sex...but he/she will always be gay.

Except it doesn't contradict your faith.

And how can you support homosexuality and yet condone someone denying their sexual orientation because of a religion?

God didn't write the Bible, you stupid little fucker. A bunch of stupid monks did. Jesus exists, but God did not. Jesus was called Jesus of Nazareth. He was not a spiritual being. It's obvious.

If you would like to know where I got my information from you can either go to Williambranham.com or Branham.org or you can just read the bible {KJV}.
Thank You!

Oh Yeah, By the way I'm a Woman not a Man.

You are the sort of person that gives Christians a bad name here.So give Euterpe the $20 and please leave. Thanks. Oh, sidenote If you have to say you are a good Christian, you really aren't.

...it took me a really long time to realize this. So, since this was originally directed to one of my posts, I will of course respond.

now please note i was not being judgmental, i only typed what the bible said on the matter. since another poster said it was not condemned " much as some like to think/assume" when the Bible is quite clear on the matter.

Point 1: The Bible is a piece of literature and therefore up for interpretation. What you get from a piece of scripture may not (and probably isn't) what I get from a piece of scripture.

Point 2: This verse says homosexual offenders meaning they offended people---harrassed people, maybe abused them in some way. In other words, this is against homosexuals who have offended, not people who simply are homosexual.

Point 3: The Bible is not very clear on most subjects. And I think it's pretty damn clear that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. Once again - it's up for an individual interpretation.

Seeming contradiction aside, I require proof to believe such a claim. God on Earth? Come on. Wouldn't a supreme being have better things to do than muck about on a "mostly harmless" planet?

Fact is, Jesus wasn't either. He was a plain human like the rest of us. He was born like a human, he lived like a human, and he died like a human. Healing powers? Heck, there are Buddhist priests who can do the same thing. Try reading about the different perspectives here.

Yay! I totally agree with this, and i'm glad that i've found other people who think jesus was a mortal man who was divinified (probably not a word, but you get the point) by other mortal men. it would be interesting to read some of the scriptures that describe the human parts of jesus' life.

Erm, God didn't write the Bible. If you follow the faith, God dictated the Bible through prophets. Or you know, something like that. Razz

If you think the Bible is so cool..you might wanna read it first. And, the Bible isn't cool. By literary standards, it fails miserably.

I did say GOD doesnt exist . So i obviously dont think he wrote . Just trying to make a point .
I have read the bible . And not being a fanatic christian I obviosly dont believe everything I read in the bible or follow it for that matter . But as far as a book goes yeah i still think its a good book .

Im not a christian . I dont even believe in GOD . But the bible is pretty cool . So why does it matter wether GOD wrote it or not . But then again the question maybe you follow it not becuase you think the Bible is a cool foundation for life , to stay on track rather than following it just coz you think GOD wrote it .
