Normal Normal Normal.
Its called irregular periods.
Its normal for any girl.
If your mom asks you again just say something on the lines of "Well, (insert friends name here)'s older sister , (insert name here) had this when she was my age and her's lasted for (insert number from 5-12) months, so dont worry mom."

I got mine once 2 years before I started getting it regularly.

If you're concerned that something might be wrong, talk to a doc. Otherwise, I would just celebrate every day that you don't have to deal with the annoyance of it...but maybe that is just me. Wink

The first year or so, a period can be very irregular. However, if you are worried, make an appointment with a doctor and they can let you know if everything's okay.

yes missing your period for that long is perfectly normal actually. i was in basketball and we worked out really hard and i didnt get mine for about 2 months. then a friend of mine was in cross country and always training and didnt get hers for about 6 months. its just the bodys response to alot of exercise. plus if your stressed out it can be affected too. stressed caused mine to be about 4 weeks late once. if you had sex then u might wanna check for pregnancy just in case but if your a virgin then its normal.

Oh, wow. 3 months is a very long time. Okay, well, first to of all, it is normal for some girls to miss their period for a long time. However, if that is not what regularly happens to you I suggest you visit a doctor immediately. I'm not trying to scare you, just trying for you to be on the safe side.

It probably is just stress. This has happened to me, so I think it is important to warn you that if you start having other health problems due to stress, you might need to shift around some stuff in your life. Taking time for yourself is really important, as is finding good ways to relax. (Even though it sounds pretty strange, I meditate to releive stress.) While nobody really enjoys their period, missing it can be worse sometimes.
I hope everything works out.

Here is what i may suggest is happening -

During the menstrual cycle, the uterus/womb thickens with blood and nutrients. To make this happen, you need sufficient nutrition and calorie intake, or else it can't happen. The human body is so amazing that if the womb isn't lined with nutrients for a fertilized egg, it knows that the body is incapable of giving birth to a baby, and therefore the reproductive system sort of shuts down.

Hence, i suggest you look at your calorie and nutrient intake.

In addition, some athletes miss or cease to have periods. This is for the same reason - the body realizes that it is incapable of carrying an child due to such athletic stress on the body. So if you are an athlete, it may comply to you.

And finally, like you said, it can be stress.

If it makes you feel better, you can take a pregnancy test, however it is important to look at the other possible causes of missed periods.

Best wishes~

If you have already spoken to your doctor and s/he isn't worried about it, you're probably okay.

Also, it says in your profile that you are only 15. Because you probably got your period just a few years ago, it is pretty normal for you to be irregular.

I'd have to ask personal questions if it is anything other than stress if you are not stressed out. It is quite normal though.

It's normal.

Stress, diet, exercise, excessive weight loss and other things can cause someone's period to be late or to not come.

The more you worry about it, though, the less likely it is to come. So try not to think about it.
