Let's see. I don't smoke anymore. I don't drink every weekend. I don't have sex with random people.... But I know how. It's how I spwn most my teen years, and is a big part of my life. So bash on people partying, bash on anyone thats being dumb like that. But it's my past. I can have fun other ways too.

I really am not either...I usually end up hanging out with friends in smaller situations. For example: One of my really good friends, I love her to death, has a friend problem. By this I mean she has a billion friends and is convinced that by not inviting pretty much everyone she knows to her parties she is going to hurt people's feelings. So...for her New Year's party, she ended up inviting 45 people. I ended up going for about an hour, because I'm a nice friend like that, but then I ended up going out for pizza with 4 close friends. We then proceeded to go back to my friend's house, watch the ball drop, make nachos and play Super Scrabble for 2.5 hours. I had the best time...

Go to www.seedmagazine.com and get the zeitgeist for August 2nd. Very interesting article about the real safety levels of drugs.

We too had a fiasco involvoing walmart... the people of the town thought that it would take money from the mom and pop stores... whatever I have smokes up, drank and had sex forever... i was 9 when I started smoking cigarettes.... and so on... i have friends that dont do any of that... and some that do all of that.... and I have fun with both.

My high school had approximately 2,300 students in it. It was one of the least racially diverse schools in the country. There is not a whole lot to do in my city--it is socially conservative and boring. There was a huge fiasco involving a WalMart that wanted to stay open 24 hours. We don't even have billboards becuase they look distasteful. I know all of my neighbors--everyone is very into everyone else's lives. Most of the people at my alma mater drank, smoke, did drugs, and/or had sex. The group of people I hung out with stayed away from all of that stuff and yet we still had the time of our lives in high school.

Finn, your from a different world then I am. My school had 2 black kids in it. We all are hicks even if we're rich. Sounds like you're from a city school. Outside my window I see trees and a crick. I see cows outside my front door and I don't know my neighbors, though I know their past. My town is full of good kids that have nothing to do but studdy at home or get high. And bad kids that wouldn't study in their life if they had to and get high. Drinking is something almost everyone in my town does. From the time your older sibling starts drinking, usualy you are too... Too bad I'm an older sibling and have the burden of trying to keep my sister away from it. In every town, city or whatever mine is called... there are the "bad kids" the "straight A kids" the "band geeks" and whatewver else tehre may be. But here where I live you get a car at 16 and you spend the rest of your teen years carrying beer and underage kids to parties with you.

I'm 17 and come from a stereotypically bad high school where teenage life revolves around pretending to be tough, fighting, and (if you're white) doing drugs. The environment is extremely racially segregated and to be blunt: If you're black, you must act violently. If you're white, you must be consistently stoned. The new kids, who are just learning their lot, act like total cheerful morons. Yes. I realize I'm bitter. The number of 14 year olds running up to me and saying how cool they feel now that they've drunk themselves sick just gets on my nerves.

I never got invited to parties in high school and I managed to have fun. Of course, having a girlfriend helped, but I only had girlfriends sophomore year and senior year. Funny thing is, though, junior year was pretty dang good. I had a lot of cool friends that year. Then they all graduated, so I was back to being a loser. Oh well. The cool part of being a band geek is having a whole bunch of other band geeks to have fun with. We threw our own parties.

Eh...I'm 19. I just finished my first year of college. I look back at high school, the times with my friends, the parties I went to...and I had the time of my life. Never once did any of those memories include me drinking, getting high or having sex...Just for the record.

Finn, that was funny... the Whee part. I almost cracked up. The only way to change is to talk about how serious the subject is. Yes and I was one of those 13 year old kids saying "Wheeeee! I like to huff paint thinner!" once in my life. I wish I had my poem I wrote one party night. It pretty much said that partying and coming too close to getting caught just isn't as fun as it was when I was younger. I more then likly would have a name that screamed "teenage angst" if I was younger when I started getting on here. I would have have a name like cut_to_live134657 or down4dacount4578 or something dumb like that. I don't know how old you are, I don't know what kinda of place you're from. But in my experience teenage life revolves arround people you meet at a party and people you meet at school. The only fun is to get drunk or high and have sex. It is expression at it's best on this site. Just let people say what they want until they get themselves in trouble. And if they are young they'll learn, the hard way.

freelove: I wasn't necessarily referring to you. I was referring to the people who basically give themselves noisenames that scream "teenage angst" and try to publicize the fact that they are either emotionally unstable or on drugs, without actually making a point. Not saying, "I have a problem, please help" but "Wheeeee! I like to huff paint thinner!"

Of course this site is not to tell our adventures with illigal drugs and drinking. Though it is an important topic an a teen's every day life. As you knowtice the bored's name is Health, Sexuality & Substance Abuse. What do you think it was made for? To discuss the problems in the world today, to talk about thinks that are bothering you in you're every day life. Silo_Screamer_ the original poster of this thread asked if it was as fun as her friend told her it was. Did you read the rest of the thread? I remember saying to be safe and to be in control. Don't get into a situation that isn't good. I didn't tell her to go out get drunk and have sex with every person she sees. And I also didn't tell any stories about wild nights.

This site is not to discuss things like this. This site is intended to get youth to care about the world around them, and motivate them to make a difference. Unless you live in a foreign country, one in which the legal age for the consumption of alcohol is significantly lower than 21, IT IS ILLEGAL TO CONSUME ALCOHOL IF YOU BELOW THE AGE OF 21. Something tells me that this site was not developed to endorse the committing of any crimes...

I hate it when people use this site as a way to publicize how they've drunk alcohol once or had sex or cut themselves. They're like the freshmen at my high school: "OMG guess what???!!! I drank BEER!!!!!" Just...sad.
