Hi im 16 years old and i dont really like my life =\ i've lived with my grandmother since i was 5 and since 11 years old i hate it here. i could be sitting at the computer playing a game or something and my grandma calls me so i say "hold on one second" then she comes in and hits me upside my head a few times or pulls on my hair. THEN everyday she threatens me with stuff like "come here before i come in there and knock you out" or "ill stomp your head into the floor" stuff like that, i was adopted when i was a baby and my foster mom passed when i was 4, and the last thing she told her best friend "Greg" was to take care of me but he didnt have any paper work to get custody of me so im stuck with my Grandma, but i love being with him, he is nice funny i learn ALOT from him and he has NEVER hit me, and he would like to get custody of me but idk if we would win =\ i cry every night because of the way she hits me or threatens me =\ right now im over weight, not that much but still, she doesnt bother to cook healthy meals,i always have to eat mc donalds and tv dinners..but when im with Greg i get full meals and healthy meals please help me, i really dont want to live with my Grandmother anymore
And i add that i havn't been to school in 3 years so i REALLY dont think i should be living with her, and i've had thoughts about killing myself or running away =\ please give me some advice on what i can do
It is not right for you to be treated like this, like the others say you can use this in court.Remember you won't have to go through this forever, hopefully you will be able to move in with Greg or resolve the situation.
NotsoJoey had some excellent advice, calling the police or 911 in an emergency (if you feel like you are in harm’s way or want to harm yourself).
Contacting your local Department of Family and Children Services is a very good place to start, they exist to protect you.
You should also consider seeking help from a trusted adult or family member, someone at your church, a friend’s parent etc.
A few other options and sources of information: The Child Help National Hotline is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Visit http://www.childhelp.org/get_help or call 1-800-4-A-CHILD (Your call is anonymous.)

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
