I believe abortion is murder. A child should never be referred to as "a choice". Some people say that pregnancy could damage a young girl's body. Guess what!? So can abortions. I like what flexy said about it, if you aren't ready to raise a baby, you are not ready for sex. I know some women get raped but that isn't the baby's fault and there is always adoption. Be the change you wish to see in the world

Pro Choice. In some cases it's OKAY. But adoption is always a better way because of the families that can't have the babies. It shouldn't be used as birth control or anything tho you should be response-able for your actions and think what will be BEST for the baby not your self... if your having sex you better be ready for that to happen...

My point is that not every unwanted pregnancy is the result of unprotected sex. You said "If a woman doesn't want a child then why didnt she use a condom or birth control pills?", but some couples do use protection but still end up pregnant.

i recently have just done a debate on this exact topic, and have done a lot of research. i wont go into all the specifics, but i have reason to believe that abortions are not only morally wrong, but bad for the mother's health, future pregnacies, and the economy. if you want me to go into specifics or show you good websites let me know.

*facepalm* His point was that your logic was extremely faulty. As far as the "just have the baby and give it up for adoption 'cause there are so many couples out there who want to adopt" argument I have two problems: A) If the potential mother is young then her body could not be ready for a pregnancy, potentially putting her at risk. Also, no matter who you are, pregnancy is a big deal and not something that should "just" be done. Yes yes, I know, "then she shouldn't have sex!" Face it, people will have sex. The species would have died out if we didn't have that urge. B) The number of children up for adoption in the United States alone outstrips the number of people looking to adopt kids, we do NOT need any more children in our sometimes extremely poorly run adoption program than we already have.

No one has the right to tell a any girl, no matter what age, she can't get an abotrtion. Not the Goverment, Congress, Parents/family members, or friends. They only person who really has a say in it is her boyfriend, and he still can't stop her.

If a woman doesn't want a child then why didnt she use a condom or birth control pills? I'm sorry but those dumbasses shouldn't be having sex [without protection]if they know they could get pregnant.
First off, the "what if their mothers had gotten an abortion" argument is the epitome of faulty logic. If a woman's mother had gotten an abortion, then she wouldn't exist and neither would the fetus she's considering aborting. It's pointless wondering about it and it doesn't accomplish anything in a debate. Secondly, condoms and birth control pills are not perfect. There's always the chance they'll fail to prevent a pregnancy. Pills are a lot more effective, though, since they suppress ovulation. Without an egg, there's nothing to be fertilized, and the woman can't get pregnant. There's still a chance something might go wrong (e.g. bad pill, woman forgets to take a pill, etc.), but it's still better than a condom, which could break or slip. So, it's not just unprotected sex that results in an unwanted pregnancy.
...first off. whats your point? (another thing I forgot to mention was instead of abortion the woman could have it and put it up for adoption to a couple who actually want a child.)

In my opinion, I think they're terrible. People need to realize there are other options to make instead of running straight to an abortion clinic. You can have the baby and settle for an adoption to a family who wants a child and you feel will take well good care of it. Or you can raise the baby yourself and handle the responsibility in a mature way, just dont make it an excuse for you not to go to school! They way I look at it is, most couples have sex in order to start a family. If you're not ready to raise a baby, you're not ready to have sex.

I strongly disagree with abortions. There is absolutely no reason to kill helpless babies. You were the one who got pregnant, you have to deal with the baby. And if your reason is because you can't take care of the child then you can settle for adoption. It makes me so sad that anyone could do that.

And how do you know the baby wouldn't make Hitler look like a boy scout? That's not a very compelling argument.

I think abortions are the most unimportant issue today. Don't get them. Get them. I couldn't care less. There are much more important things to worry about. The fact that people are fighting to make them illegal, saddens me. We should be focusing our energy on children who are already here.
Why make it sad to be gay? Doing your thing is okay. Our body's our own, so leave us alone. And play with yourself today.

I'm pro-choice
I think that if the child is going to grow up with a bad or unfair life, or with parents who really can't handle/don't want a child, then abortion is an option to think about. Anyone thinking about abortion should think about adoption too though. Women should have the right to do what they want with their bodies, and if they want an abortion, then it's their choice.

I am all for abortion.
If someone can't afford a child, or isn't old enough to have a child, abortion is a great option.
There are also cases where a girl is raped. Why should she go through an expensive pregnancy when she was forced to have sex? It's not fair.
Abortion saves lives.

I strongly dissagree with abortion. Abortion is murder. Just because something is small and helpless doesnt mean people have the right to kill it! We were all there once and even if the mother didn't want us we all deserve to live. There are lots of orphanges who would gladly take kids in.

In an ideal world, no one would feel the need to have an abortion. But this is far from being an ideal world. There are instances where abortions may be necessary to save the life of the mother. That alone convinces me that abortion should not be completely outlawed. The major question is whether abortion should be allowed on-demand for women who aren't in dire need. I'd prefer it not happen, but I am deadset against forbidding it. The better option is to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place. The way to do this is to better educate people about methods of pregnancy prevention (e.g. condoms, birth control pills, etc.). If a person doesn't get pregnant, they won't get an abortion. Of course, the other option is complete abstinence, but studies have shown time and again that people don't always stick to abstinence. This isn't the place for that discussion, so I won't go into it any further. To sum up, I'm against abortions, but I'm pro-choice. It's the only rational choice for me.
