Question:
What is it with some people being ok with teen sex? What do you think about it? Confused

Choices:
It is totally wrong in every aspect
It is ok
It is cool

Really?
I ask because most sex education (too be fair, I can only speak about the classes I've beenin/seen) seems to be geared towards abstinence and aversion to nearly all things sexual. Maybe that's a bi-producy of living in the Bible Belt, but people who have a problem with sex are definitely not in the minority. So I (in my view, the minority) expressed my edgy (/douchebaggy) statement in what I see as an overly-anti-sex thread. (ignoring the poll, which does show a plurality being ok with sex....)

And is it really so bad to assume people are abnormal if they have a problem with sex, the main means of procreating? Not insulting asexuals or anything, but just saying.

ok, this kind of makes me laugh, because my health class.... ohhh it was interesting. they talked about everything under the sun. EVERYTHING. and it was some old bag teaching us. you learned about oral sex, anal sex, lesbian/gay sex, std's, pregnancy, rape, birth control.

we had this activity where everyone had a "sex act" and had to get up in the front of the class and say what the order was.... they basically told us how to get someone to have sex with you. my mom was pissedddddd.

Oh, there are a lot of fun things a man and a woman could do together that will never result in pregnancy...

Yes, (safe) sex is awesomely amazing and everyone should have it all the time with anyone they can anywhere they are.

I'm kidding. I don't have a problem with it, but I think it's much better when both people love each other.

This question is way too broad.

Sex is a part of nature, respectively. So saying "Sex is cool. LOLZ." seems pretty immature to me.

All you need is love.

ahh... i happen to be one of those teens who had sex because i loved the guy and really thought he was 'the one'. how wrong i was when he dumped me a month later.
i personally have no issue with premarital sex. i mean, it's a personal decision, and if you're stupid *like me* and make the choice for the wrong reasons, then there's no real point going to cry to anyone about it. you chose to do it. that's all there is to it.
and i'm sorry that i sound harsh. there's just so many girls i know that are all like 'omg i can't believe i slept with him and he DUMPED me'. like, boo you. coulda told him no but you didn't so tough.

I hope I'm not coming across as procreating being the greatest driving force behind people's lives; we have too many people as it is.

One makes a post trying to antagonize the "teen sex is never right", and "I think teen sex is crazy and you are stupid to volentarily do it" people and those who call those who are alright with sex "ignorant", and a debate with a reasonable veteran poster ensues. Not what I was hoping for.

Even religious christians think I'm a weirdo for not liking sex and not wanting to have sex, because to them sex equals children and all the world's problems can be solved by making more children. It's hard enough trying to live with the fact that I'll probably be alone forever, I don't need to see a bunch of smartasses trying to put me and others like me down, for something we have no control over.

Assume all you want. But just realize that some people don't want to be reminded of how pointless their lives are.

A total douchebag would be the proper term...

I'm sorry but I hate how in this society if you have a problem with sex, you're weird and abnormal. To them I say "Fuck you", because it's unfair and fucked up beyond words to assume such things about people.

Umm...Not quite the term I'd use.

ok I often wonder how do you "know" anything about sex?

I have been having sex for years, it hasn't once ruined my life, in fact it makes my life all that much more worth living. I love to share intimacy with others, others I care deeply about. Others who yes may leave my life, but I will always have everlasting memories of them and the things we shared. Is that your idea of ruining my life?

I don't know what college you are going to, but for most it is an amazing giant party!! I often attend parties with friends, some themes include "dress to get laid" and some even better names. Alot of drinking, sex, drugs and people having fun like they never will again. This is waht I see, you may not. I know people who go to college and don't party, they want to and need to focus. What you see is up to you, but make sure what you see is what you want, this is your only chance to see it.

Buddy, your ignorance shines bright! Good luck with that.

A little too many quote boxes going on here, but oh well.

What's your problem? If they're speaking FROM EXPERIENCE, then there is no ignorance on their part, only yours. This person has no problem with sex, and good for them--they're normal.

And I would say the main reason teenagers have sex--uh...it feels good? You know, just maybe? I think people forget that part.
IT FEELS GOOD.

What's with all these sex/sob stories? My girlfriend and I have been going out for three and a half years, and I think it's only natural we'd be to that part in the relationship. We have not been hurt or had any negative impact at all. In fact, it's great.

Not every one will feel the same way about this topic. We are many people from many back grounds. The important thing to remember is that with every action, there is a reaction. Although we would like to believe that having sex with someone that you are not married to has little or no affect you. The sad truth is, that has a large affect on both you and the person you had sex with. I've found that most girls do it to feel excepted by someone. The problem with that is they, more often that not, get hurt in the process and are left feeling empty inside. Guys for the most part have sex out of lust. But like the girls we also are longing to be excepted by someone. So we see that a big reason teens have sex is to fill a void in their lives.

Amen to that.

Sex is fine and dandy if you ask me. If you want to, go right on ahead.

It really isn't all that risky (unless you're a whore about it). Don't see why all the negative-hype is so prevalent.

Waiting till marriage. . .now that's weird to me.
