They can't really show anything TOO bad on regular tv channels. Cable gets away with more... Either way, usually if a show is going to have adult material, there is a warning before it starts. If you think that it's "bad", don't watch it. Simple. Anyway....my mom blocked HBO because porn comes on at eight on some of the stations. I'm the only one who doesn't know the password.....even though I'm the least likely to watch it. I think there's something a bit wrong with that.
What if what you think is great, really is great, but it's not as great as something greater?

Same. That's why I've probably stopped watching TV all together. I can watch my DVDs on my laptop, afterall....

the violence on TV does not bother me at all ive seen way worse. Why i saw stuff like that happen right next to me now I am totally serious about this 2 years ago I was in a restaraunt and the person seated at the table next to me commited suicide with what looked to be a .44 magnum snubnose revolver no bull**** it was in the news and everything, also i got that high velocity spatter on my clothes being seated near the victim.
I was gonna say something meaniful, I was gonna say something wise, I would have said something that meant something to me, but I lost my train of thought

The only difference between porn and sex on cable TV? Penetration. Porn can show it, cable TV cannot. Sex on TV doesn't improve us as a society. You're just saying that because you're a child and you want your precious TV shows to stay on the air. Porn, TV sex, cartoon sex, I don't really care. I have a simple motto for that: If it doesn't turn me on, I turn it off. Oh well.

If you are talking porn, yes it is descusting.
However, if you are talking TV shows like desperate housewives, or the OC, or sex and the city, etc, i think seeing sex on shows is completely normal. When im watching a show, like desperate housewives, and gabrielle and her lawn boy start having sex, i really dont think anything of it because im so used to seeing sex on TV. Its just so normal these days... i think it improves us as a secoity

I can see if REALLY adult rated things were on regular programming, but if you have satelite and you turn to something you shouldn't be seeing, it is your fault for ordering the channel. Cancel it.

I think that adult shows are rated adult in the hopes that someday people concerned about that sort of thing will actually pay attention to the rating instead of just being shocked by the content over, and over, and over, and over.

I don't like the blood and guts and sex, but if we truely want to clean up tv we would have to take off the news. I've seen much worse things on news shows. Why? Because it's real things happening to real people, not something made up.
