I love public school you get to mix with all the other people and not just stick with the same kids all the time. You are always doing something new and it is so cool. You get to see how others act and you have alot of people with you so you can have more friends. Its awsome!

Well, I've gone to both Public and Private schools, and I can't really say which I like better. Right now, I'm in my 10th school since Kindergarten (and I'm in 8th grade) and 3 of the school's I've been to were Private. Of course, they were in different countries, so I don't know how a private school in USA is. Personally, i liked the public schools better, because of a few reasons. 1) More people (meaning more friends) 2) NO UNIFORMS! 3)more people. That's just my opinion though. I really did like my private schools though....

Seems to me you are saying that kids that go to public schools are dumb, stupid, like to pick fights, have attitudes and homeschoolers and private schoolers rule the world and are the smartest creatures to grace the world and want to kill all the public schoolers. I am in TAG at my school and I have harder and smaller classes.I do go to public school.I used to go to private but my parents felt that the school wasn't teaching me enough. They mostly taught about relegion.A lot of the kids there were NOT challenged and it was easy to get straight A's.I am sorry but it doesn't tell what type of person you are or how you act by WHERE u go to school. I mean to me it seems as thought the private school people who posted b4 me think public school kids are dumb and stupid and need to be killed.Escuse me but thats what I am getting. To me it doesn't matter My cousin goes to private school but its free for her because my aunt is a teacher there. My aunt could save a LOT more money by sending them to public.Nothing is wrong with it.There are good and bad private and public schools. You act like private school is for the rich and famous and public school is for the poor and stupid. It doesn't go like that.My parents have a lot of money and I have friends that are REAL rich and can afford to pay the private school rates but we'd rather get introduced to the real world. PEACE Courtney

well i am a product of public school, mainly saying, that i really dont care about school because all it is truely is a prison for the youth of america, we learn yes but we are trapped by a fascist with the power to give us alpha numeric compensation for 7 or so hours of torture from a sadist that thinks he/she is all that....i am FIRMLY against private school. the purpose of private school is to seperate the rich kids from the regular kids, because their richy parents dont want them learning with "animals" and fear for the safety of their brats too much

Hey everyone,
Between public school and private school, I'd definitely pick private school. I am a life homeschooler (sounds like a jail sentence) and from a perfectly objective point of view, public schoolers are generally either flighty and emotional or pushy and rude, or some bizare combo of the two (it happens, believe me). In public schol, you have all this cliques and dating troubles and too much of the world thrown in your face too early. It is really really scary. Private schol sounds good. Smaller classes increase the teacher-student ratio, and it makes for better friendshops and less cliques. But what about homeschooling? I know, I've heard all the arguments. it shuts us off from the real world, we don't have friends, we're nerdy - and I guess those are all true. We're not judgemental, since we don't have cliques (between a brother and a sister, you can't have a lot of difference, we have a lot of time for extracurricular activities, so we do have friends, we have good parent-child relationships since we're with our parents (or whatever teacher you have) all the time, and, lets face it, homeschoolers are probably a lot smarter than the average public-schooler. I don't care what your stupid GPA is, I'm talking about basic intelligence. Its something that a lot of people lack. TTYL,

I have been a public school student ever since kindergarten and I have really enjoyed it. However, it's not always for everyone. I think that if you are the type of person who gets along well with others and isn't afraid about speaking their mind, then public school is definitely the place for you. I know some people who instead go to private schools because they need the smaller atmosphere to succeed. Each school has it's upsides. While in public school you get more choices in classes and more people to meet, you do get absorbed into the "real world" and you get a lot of stuff thrown at you that you sometimes have to sort through or kind of "shield your eyes" if you know what I mean. At private schools, it is kinda like a second family because everyone knows pretty much everyone else, but you don't always have all the class choices that public schools do, you have to pay more, and you get absorbed into the troubles and problems of what your peers are going through a lot more. So it really depends on your personality type. I have considered private school, but I just could never leave all the friends I have behind. I like the idea of meeting new people and getting involved in tons of clubs. They just don't have that available at private schools.

quote: public schools teach to the middle of the class so that the "dumb" kids don't know what's going on and the "smart" ones are bored out of their minds
nope.. thats why there are standard and advanced classes. and for some subjects (like math) there is an even bigger variety of levels. quote: in public schools all kid's want to do is pick fight's with other people and the weird thing is that they all want to pick on people littler than them
i also disagree with this. there really arent alot of fights. and when they break out, they get broken up quickly. in the class room, there are teachers to watch for this. and there is security for out at lunch, parking lots, where ever. theres always someone there. i think public schools are better because they prepare you better for the "real world". once you grow up, there arent gonna be people to protect you allll the time from fights and bad people. fights and disagreements are human nature. also, it seems like alot of private school kids arent exposed to alot of things. my elementary school was basically private. they were super strict on everything. i mean really strict. when i got to middle school, it was a complete culture shock. it was crazy. i'd think that would happen in this case.. but who knows?

I think private schools are a lot better than Public schools. For one in public schools all kid's want to do is pick fight's with other people and the weird thing is that they all want to pick on people littler than them. In Private Schools they want tolerate that kind of stuff because they are a lot more strict than Public Schools. Public Schools are not tough enough on student's,so student's do stuff because they know they can get away with it so they do it, and all they do is get a couple day's of detention. In Private School's you do something like fight or harras people there is no suspension it is expulsion. Thank you Clint.

Well, I think that private school is better than public. I've attended private schools well since forever. I've never gone public, but the idea of having so many kids in one grade and how they teach just isn't that appealing. My parents said that most public schools teach to the middle of the class so that the "dumb" kids don't know what's going on and the "smart" ones are bored out of their minds. I don't know the truth of this because public schools have all those different levels of academics. However, I still feel that private schools are better. I feel that the academics are more competitive and better all 'round. This isn't saying that public schools are bad. I think it's just whatever works for the individual. Some people thrive in a private school environment and some do better at public schools. I feel more comfortable in a the smaller setting of a private all girls college prep school. I'm taking some classes that could perhaps count for college credit and I'm only a sophomore. However, this is just my opinion. Toodles!
