I do not handle stress well. I usually get sick and look so terrible my teachers tell me to go home. I also worry a lot about papers. I have never been able to find that calm people talk about, I am begining to think that it is a made up place. quote: It is better to be quiet and let people think you are stupid then opening your mouth and proving it!

I try to just laugh about the things that stress me out, and that usually helps. Playing Sims 2 actually works well for me too, I totally zone out and go into apathy mode.. and with my Sims, I have all the control. If I'm really upset and don't want to talk about it, I cry, and if I'm not able to let myself cry I watch the finale of Six Feet Under (or something else depressing) until the tears come.

I beat the crap out of my punching bag with out gloves. Then when I can't do that anymore I put the gloves on and have at it again untill I can't move.

That sounds...complicated. Yet, it's not a destructive or harmful way of getting rid of stress.

I break my computer. No seriously. I intentionally make it malfunction. I'll do something like improperly partition the drive, or try to install Ubuntu on NTFS, etc. I'll find some way to mess it up. Then I'll spend the time working to fix it. By the time I'm done, I'm usually stress free, and my computer is nice and shiney again.

I talk to myself and make lists. Lots and lots of lists, even if they don't connect with what I was worrying about. And I like counting, too.
You've got to get on with my own life.

Oh, I also wait until I have a complete nervous breakdown and I end up curled up in a ball on my bed sobbing and then lack the energy to finish whatever homework assignment it was that I was stressing about.

I don't really do anything. I just push everything aside and suppress it until whatever is stressing me out passes over, than I am fine.

My stress manifests itself in my dreams as something/someone chasing me. I discovered this today.

Let's either be serious in this thread or post healthy ways to deal with stress. Both the topic poster and other members would greatly appreciate that.
In a situation where a moral decision must be made, we should always choose truth, in the expansion and enrichment of knowledge, in ourselves and others, and at all levels of our being.

I deal with stress by handing out severe beatings with my fists and forhead, this tends to keep my calm and focused

I try to just avoid stress and when it gets too high, I just pretend its not there till I explode and do something drastic.
