Is erasing yourself self-mutiliation*? My friends and I do it at school and stuff. Her mom is trying to make her stop because she says it is self mutiliation*. I also want to make a cross on the skin between my thumb and finger. Does any one else do this? If you do, do you like it? (i do) Is the cross a good idea?

Wow evy, thats horrible. omg.
back to the candle thing. i almost burned down the house one time. i was using my hair dryer one morning and i noticed that it kept clicking on and off when i moved it. (i was 12 i think), and i kept wiggling it around and it kept clicking on and off. i figured that there was something loose inside of it, and i was trying to figure out where it was that was rattling. suddenly the thingy that plugs into the outlat burst into flames. the cord that was connected to that little box thing was broken and when i moved it, the wires brushed and sparked. it started an electrical fire and i screamed. i was going to turn on the faucet and put water on it but my dad ran upstairs and unplugged it. he said if i had put water on it i would have been shocked because it was an electrical fire. hairdryers scare me now.

I can't tell you what to do. No one has the right to do that. But I don't think it is a good idea. It seems cool and stuff but in the end none of it is worth it.

I've done it once, and it hurt like HELL!!!! I did it to be popular. I was such an idiot in the sixth grade. See, I came from a different school and I was hanging out with these girls and they said that they'd keep me in their group if I "earased" myself. Maybe I did it too much, I don't know. Maybe I did it in memory. All I know was that it really, and I mean REALLY burned. I found out later that they were just kidding and that they just wanted to see how gullible I was. I'm disgusted with that kind of stuff. I'm disgusted with the scar that I have. I'm disgusted with that whole thing, the earasing (but not the people who do it). I guess I'm scared that I'll die or someone close to will die. The reason is sad. When I was eight this wonderful girl named Marie babysat me. She was always earasing herself and comeing up with excuses for cutting herself. One night she put me to bed one night and I woke up and walked to the bathroom to get a drink of water. There she was. Holding a knife to her juggler vein and she dug it deep into her skin. I have bad dreams about it still. Her last words were: "I can't take it anymore. Give this to my parents." She handed the knife to me. I called 911. They couldn't do anything. I was in treatment for a whole year. OMG! I'm crying! Have to go now. My point: when things are bad, tough it out because it hurts other people more than it'll hurt you to go get help. Evy Silent moment for Marie.

I use to cut myself or erase myself, at first i did it to get my friend to stop the same thing. Kinda a reverse psychology thing but it didn't work . i ended up cutting my self over and over . i liked the pain it was an escape it felt good and i liked watching it bleed. but one day i woke up and saw the marks on my arms and hands and was digusted in my self . i stopped. But your not werid for doing that to yourself. you should proably stop but thats up to you.

You take an eraser and just rub it on your skin for a litle while until skin starts peeling off. Then you decide how much farther you want to go down. A little while after the skin starts to peel, is when the liquid starts comming out. It is gross and painful, but it helps.

I think the liquid is just a natural things between skin layers. Or maybe it's the stuff that causes blood clots.

It appears that they abrase their skin with an eraser over a period of time, obviously wearing it down; the clear liquid is likely the contents of cells and such that are being worn through by the friction. This also apparently causes scarring or at least calouses.

I have this thing that I used to do all the time with candles that is kind of weird...tell me if any of you do it. I don't think that it is self mutilation because it usually doesn't scar, and if it does its just a little burn, but I used to like to light candles and let them burn for a long time and like stick the tip of my finger into the wax over and over until there was this long strand of wax. lol. ok, well it sounds really lame when i type it, but it was kinda cool! but then one day i had this candle that was really low, and i was trying to light it and the flame traveled up the candle, i burned my finger, i dropped the match which fell on my dresser the i tried to pick it up but ended hitting it onto the WHITE CARPET. it was quite a fiasco since i thought i was going to burn to death, lol. i havent touched a match since!

I know...but I do it. I think its a subconsious way to get out of my problems...but I dislike scratching...because when I do scratch its mostly my hands that I scratch...and when people look at my hands...or ask about it...I feel like they should just leave me and my problems a lone. I feel disgusted at myself...and I try to hide my hands. It doesn't feel right to be the outsider.
