The M would actually come from Colonial times when people committed manslaughter. I haven't committed manslaughter, but I think it would just be different.

Everyone thought that manslaughter was too bad for life in prision, but not serious for death. So, they'd burn the letter M on your hand and would kill you if you were ever brought to court again.

I don't erase myself. All I did once was cut an S in my left hand. My friend cut a A in her's. I just did it becasue I was bored.

earasing yourself? i've never heard of that. it is basically like rug burn, isnt it? you just wear away your skin? that isnt anymore self mutilation than a tatoo is or a piercing, even wearing makeup, in my mind. i WRITE on myself a ton. like so much that my hands permanently have faded words on them day after day. can someone please explain to me exactly what it is? lol, sorry

yeah it is. eventually it will burn your skin, and any self-inflicted wound or pain is [in my book] self-mutilation. i have friends that do that too, but instead run something dull over their hands over and over again, so eventually it starts burning your hand and it scars. theyre worse scars than cutting yourself, and it hurts worse too, not speaking from experience, of course... ok, yeah i am...
