My friend pierced her own bellybutton, nose, ears (5 times, each side) and her chin. Yep, very gross. I only have my ears pierced, I had 4 holes, but 2 grew out.

Pierced nipples are kind of cool. Except when only one is pierced, that looks stupid to me.

I just like piercing myself.

australian boys at the age of fifteen are ceremoniusly circumcised in a corroborree. when it is time for the man to become an elder, he receives a second, more painful cut below the penis. it's called the glans, the peice of skin that attaches the tesicles to the penis itself.
in navajo tribes, branding was a way to show not only strength, but trust. the man would go out into a secluded area, away from other people, and he would sit and chant for awhile. his friends would come and cut peices of his skin from the arms, then place a burning leaf on the wound.
many people call the native american's tribal paint "war paint." but in truth, the paint is worn at special ceremonies, as well as in battle. the idea was that you wanter your face to be well recognized by the gods, in battle as well as ceremony.
i have no references to suspension except for a wester chinese metho of haning by ropes on your hands on the edge of a cliff.
if anyone knows the origin of suspension, please tell me!

-----"""I want to get mine (bellybutton) peirced but im startin to have my doubts """
The bellybutton is one of the most dangerous areas to get pierced. This is because there isn;t a lot of circulation going to that area.
However: I'm sure if you look up information on bellybutton piercing, and go to a really nice place when you get it done, it'll be fine. Just make sure you get it pierced by someone with obvious experience in doing it.

I don't mean to be nit-picky, but I doubt you have everything pierced besides your nipples and genitalia. These days, you can get anything pierced: neck, ***, pretty much anywhere on your face, head, etc. Do you really have everything pierced? I'm not judging; kudos if you do. I was just wondering.

i have everything pierced expect my nipples and the genital area (i consider that piercing unnesesarry and sick). body modification...i've dont one things. when I was 13, i had this ritualistic/spirit-balancing thing done to me. it was stretching my toungue (only by about an inch though) while i was meditating. since i had my eyes closed, i couldnt see what was used to do this, but let's just say the meditation had no effect whatsoever on the pain of it it took me a long time to heal from that, but it doesnt hurt or bother me anymore. and i wont do it again, hell no. im not going to put myself in that pain again. i do alot of henna tattoing on my hands and my lower back, but since it's not permament, i have to "re-touch" them every time they start to fade. i think body modification is an art. i think that you should decorate your body how you'd like, because you should be happy with it.

I didn't have a problem with my mom. My dad is the one who I had to sneak behind his back to get my naval peirced.
But, yeah, I don't see what parents have a problem with. It's stupid.

I dont know why mothers have such a problem with navels and toungues being pierced. Both close up pretty quick unlike when your ears are pierced.

quote: I don't remember getting earrings
ugh. I do. My mom took me to the mall to get them pierced when I was in kindergarden. They pierced one and I wouldn't let them pierce the other. Then about 2 months later I went and got the other pierced, but they got infected and closed up. I got them pierced again in 2nd or 3rd grade. I was such a dork walking around w/ one earring lol. I have to talk my mom into letting me get my naval pierced though. I love them, and they are really cute.

I think it is cool that you want to get peirced or tatooed. I have earrings and a naval ring. I don't remember getting earrings, but the naval ring hurt - but it's worth it! It looks really cute. I know it's a little superficial (sorry, I don't know how to spell it), but I just think naval rings look really cute.

nope. You'll have to pull your skin so it's tight enough to see the tatoo. It's pretty funny.
