Ladies, please try to keep this thread on topic. Please post the things that work for you to relieve menstrual cramps. Everyone here is posting for the same purpose, so there is no need to ask the question again.
No shenanigans.

bananas get rid of cramps. + I use midol for my period needs." For tampons, i use tampax pearl. And you might want to stick the tampon up more if you can feel it.

i take baths, listen to music i enjoy, and use an old family recipe that my doctor said was completely healthy: I mix i few drops of spirits of ammonia in a glass of coke(it covers up the taste the most). The reason it works is because the spirits is a natural muscle relaxer. quote: Originally posted by Bushsupporter: If Eve didn't eat from the Tree of Knowledge, you wouldn't have been punished.
obviously you have never had a crap in your life, you would probably die from the pain if you got them as bad as me.

See a doctor if it is really bad, they may prescribe an anti-inflamatory or a strong painkiller. Sometimes it is too painful to exercise so try resting.

Cramps are totally normal (your body's preparation for child birth), but if they're unbearable you should see a doctor/gyno to be sure your healthy. G.l.

bananas or regular light to moderate exercise, focusing on your core (something like yoga or pilates would be great, but theres plenty of workouts on the intertubes if you dont want to take a class)

Oh God. So do I. I'm going to have them on the FIRST, FIRST day of high school, when I'm nervous enough, I'll have to worry about damn period cramps! Grrr. I had them on my finals ... I seriously told the teacher (out loud in front of 30 kids) I had really bad cramps and I had to go home. No one (thank God) made fun of me, the teacher didn't let me go though ... I flunked the final. Figures. I was seriously about to cry. I don't get cramps that often, but I get them at the worst times. -Sunset

My advice is to go to your doctor. I used to have very awful cramps, where my legs would ache and shake and I couldn't even stand up without feeling like I was going to faint. He prescribed me with an acidic pill called Mefenamic. This is stronger than advil and it really works, it brings down the bloating and soothes the cramps. You only have to take it 3 times a day for each day you're on your period.
