This stuff bothers the hell out of me.

Why is it that pride for one's own kind suddenly means the slandering and hatred of everything else? Why can't there be a group of straight people who assert their pride, and without using it as a mere vessel to vent their insecurities?

I am straight, and would form a "straight pride" group if it wasn't to be filled with retards who are looking for another way to complain about gays and bisexuals. The idea should be "straight is good," NOT "gay is bad." It's supposed to be a positive affirmation, not negative reaction.
