well, if your friend really wants to try cigarettes, she probably will someday. you cant run every part and control every decision your friend makes. as long as you aren't pressured into it by her, let her do what she wants!

quote: haha, you check her purse for cigarettes and thats not "parent like"
Well it's a little parent-like but it still works. Never just throw them on the ground afterwards; when people get addicted to things they'll go as far as taking it off the ground just to get it.

The first one is a high and so hard to get used to that the nicotine may take a while to affect the brain. The first may lead someone to believe cigarettes will give them a great high or give them a bad case of coughing for a second or two. The second one is the one that will definitely get someone hooked. But don't take the chance of a first, though. I really don't think it's worth it.

Well first of all, makes sure she doesn't smoke around you. My friend has tried a cigarette like once or twice, so every time we go somewhere, I check her purse to make sure there are no cigarettes. Have you told her you were worried? Because maybe you should sit down with her and talk about it. Don't get all parent-like on her though. And maybe suggest to her about counseling or those hotlines where they talk about quiting smoking.
