Why does a broken heart hurt so bad? Disappointment and heartache are the ultimate downsides of this wonderful trip we call life. It helps us grow and learn who we are and who we want to become as individuals, but it sure does hurt! I think God lays it on our hearts so that we will learn to trust in Him more. What do you think?

I don't think it's anything to do with God. I don't think it's down to the devil either. Why would anyone want to believe in a higher power who causes all of the suffering in the world? (don't answer that question, I'm not trying to start yet another religious debate thread here!)

Sometimes bad things happen and there is nothing you can do to stop that. We can make life fairer in the ways we can control, like being kind to others, but we can't change what is outside our control. Life isn't fair. "Sh*t happens".

But it is ridiculous to think that because of one bad thing, you will never be able to open up to anyone again and it will never pay off. Speaking plainly that's stupid. Unless you can see your future you can't argue with me here.

Not meaning to trivialise your suffering, but snap out of it DrakaiPrince! The future is a fresh page, thw world is your oyster etc.

I believe in god and I don't think he wants bad things to happen to us things happen to us because there is sin in the world. Take me for example my therapist told me to start caring about someone like actually loving someone and it backfired now I no what true love and heartbreak feel like so I'm never having emotions again. Never! Never! Never!

Remembering the times when we have hurt the most is what makes the good times really worthwhile.

sometimes hurt can be the best thing for a heart. when you are in love and someone just decides to break it off it can really hurt. but it could just save you from a lot more hurt alot !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes heartache is a good thing. When you look back at heartache, you can sometimes be thankful that you're heart got broken instead of being in a horrible relationship. Now...that has never happened to me. I hate heartache, although it seems to love me, and yes, heartache hurts a lot, but I'm sure someone's been grateful for their heartache. I'm sure...

A broken heart hurts. Really bad, but without those down moments in life we begin to take for granted all of the good that is happening all around us. Wounds heal with the right help. Scars may remain, but just think of it as a battle scar and proof of how strong you are. You are the only person who can make your life miserable. Even in times of great heartache.
