So basically, this will happen:

We find out that homosexuality is actually a genetic/hormonal disorder (which it most likely is). Some crackpot scientist develops a "cure". All hell breaks loose.

That could very well be the case (it being a hormonal/genetic disorder), because no one really knows. But if that is true, then no one can blame them for being what they are because they cannot help it.

Something that is a "sin" or is wrong is only such if the person chooses to do it. But, if they are born like that (which would be the case with the disorder scenario), you cannot say they choose it; therefore, it is not wrong and they are not "sinning."

I love it how these heterosexuals think they know what it is like to be a homosexual. I think we should all listen to what the homosexuals have to say about how they "became" gay. Why? Maybe because they are the ones who would know.

Also, why would someone consciously choose to be gay? Give a logical explanation of why someone would choose to be hated, ignored, fired from their job, threatened, beaten up, and killed, when they "chose" to be gay.

"Its not exactly a choice, they just fall in love with the same sex."

Ah, homosexuals. Shot out of the womb waving rainbow-colored flags.

Well, one cannot choose his or her sexuality. So, by means of elimination, what can you gather from this?

I just love the ignorance of people who don't know what they're talking about. If you're not gay or lesbian then how could you know whether or not they're born that way? Now, I have never personally heard of anyone choosing to be gay, but I guess anything is possible. For me, it has always been something that I have always known on some level or another, but up until recently it was something that I couldn't let others know. The reason being that I like NOT getting my butt kicked for no good reason. I mean, hit me because I called you a name, or because I'm a smart-***; just don't hit me for being who I am, especially when it doesn't affect you at all. One time I overheard a conversation at school between a friend of mine and someone who was obviously not. It went something like:
Not Friend:"I heard Dougan might be gay."
Friend:"So what. It's just another rumor."
"But what if it's true?"
"So what if it is?"
"If it is, I'll be the first in line to beat that fa**ots a$$."
Thanks to people like him, I had to stay in the closet up until about a month ago. Thanks to people like him there were many, many times that I wished that I were straight, just so I wouldn't have to worry about what the world might think of me. Of course that wish didn't come true, but I'm happier now, being out and just not giving a crap, then I ever was in the closet. I started going through a deep depression for a few months before I came out. There was nothing I could do. Music only went so far. Marijuana was only a temporary fix, and it only left me feeling worse later. But once I was finally honest with the people around me it was like a HUGE weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I was finally able to be myself.
Unless you've ever been in the closet you have no idea what it's like to have to keep such an important part of your life from the world. The stress it puts you under. The agony you go through. And, depending on the tollerance of your town, the heartache you feel knowing you can't have a relationship because you don't want to risk looking at the wrong person the wrong way; because you know what will happen if they're a biggot.

Ironic that the ones who are deemed rascism free are also the ones deemed bigotry filled. And to the person who started this thread, I'm a rich white boy in a nice neighborhood with caring parents who have always treated me right, and guess what, I turned out bisexual. People freaked about it. I didn't choose to be gay.

Should people as stupid as you continue to breed and raise your children to believe such things...

Not another one....I swear, YouthNOISE is gonna drown in homosexuality related threads.

"homosexuality is a choice"
And can you not see the absurdity in this? Who would choose to be discriminated against and threatened? My friend is out of school because people THOUGHT (correctly, however) he was gay and threatened his life. That's sick.

People aren't born as CEOs, druggies, or writers. People make choices to be who they are.

homosexuality is a choice, not somethign "you are born with." That is sick, to think that an innocent child has the capacity to break Gods ;aws against homosexuality.

Of course you are attracted to the opposite sex when you are born. People who are gay chose to be gay.
