I think people do not like this commercial because they know it is true. And it is hard to face the trueth when you know you have inadvertantly supported terrorism.

oil and diamonds arent big terrorist things because those are mostly controlled by the government. not nessecarily of that government either. Yeah they have their influence but making drugs is cheaper nad they can get the supplies easier and have a HUGE market. you might not fund alll their money but you support some of it.

I do think that those adds are bull. The terrorists make more money from oil and diamonds than they do from drugs. So how about having a nice attractive middle aged person in a SUV feeling guilty for supporting terrorists with gas/oil, or a rich woman with a diamond ring on every finger being blamed. Those adds criminalized kids (people other than teens do drugs, especially the ones like heroin and opium that terrorists make money from, and anyone with any amount of sence knows that). They may as well say "well, if you've ever done illegal drugs we're shipping you off to the terrorist camps in Guantanamo Bay. " Geez, lets just bomb every American high school while we're at it.

It is true, if you have baught drugs you might have help fund a terrorists. You most likley were not helping a terrorists in the Near East, unless you baught heroin or opium, but you are helping terrorists in South America, the drug lords. The drug lords kill civilians and try to distrup our government, by importing illegal goods into our country. I guess reality sucks, but it sures feel good to say I am drug free.

Why is it "The War on Terrorism" is now being used as an excuse to everything? As if the war on drugs hasn't gone far enough as is.

it is estimated that of the money osoma bin laden had (other than his inheritance) most is drug money. When you buy drugs you have to know that it was illegally imported and people that do one illegal thing are more likely to do other things. You might not be getting Osama's stash but you could be giving money support (they didnt mean you are for terrorism) to another 'bad' group. an analogy is sweat shops, little kids work to make products you buy and get jack squat for it. you buying the pproduct isnt saying that you support the poeple that put them to work, but are making it easier for them to do what they do. you can know the facts and do something about it or not, but cant say no i do not support them with funding. I think that it would be very good to open illegal drugs to the public and tax the crap out of them so the government DOES get money out of it. Also a large majority of crime is drug related. Make it legal and some of those crimes will stop. There will still be people doing grugs if it is legal or not. i dont think that drugs are good and do not do drugs but we can either get no advantage from it or get money and stop crime

I think that illegal drugs probably do support terrorists. Though I'm not sure if I agree with putting that in ads, I do think it will make people think twice before buying illegal drugs. Everyone was effected by the terrorist attacks on 9-11, so I think many people will reconsider using drugs, when there is a connection between the two.

lol...just as an abstract idea...perhaps the government should follow in bin ladens path and get a cut of the drug business? hey, we could fix some of the deficit being caused by the "war." Or, actually this same strategy could help stop the drug problem here in the US. From what it sounds like, the majority of the people here are against Dubya and the government, and if everyone else had this view, and found out the money was going to the government, perhaps there would be some sort of boycott. Just a thought. Acer (none of the hypothetical situations actually reflect any of my views, but its late and i am getting "genius ideas" because of the time.

I'm really sorry you feel this way lea. Though i feel it may be a little immoral to bring the war against terrorism into this, the ad is pretty much right. Not only is the ad pretty much right, it'll make people think twice about their money going to drugs...and to terrorists

A good solution would be legalizing drug use... And I think using the patriotism of pple to stop drug use is... very stupid. Maybe it's true but it is not a way to stop drug use !

I say it's bull. Our government has consistently been in our face with "be all you can be"...join the armed forces...protect your country. I say killing a family is killing a family; no matter what part of the world you're in or whose army you join. I guess it's o.k. to kill a family as long as you kill the family with the support of our government(?) Hasn't our government been funding terrorists...didn't we teach Osama Bin Laden everything he knows? I think our government is grasping at straws and to the tune of 3.5 million dollars. How many people could we feed with 3.5 million dollars? I think our government needs to take some accountability here and quit trying to blame someone else...especially youth. Sure, we do have a drug problem in our country, but I think those ads are a low blow from George W. Bush.
