i have never thought of/tried to commit suicide, but i know SO MANY people do. Why do you do it? With all the people i know it seems like they are so happy, and so many people love them. Some of them have great home lives, friends, boyfriends, are great at sports...so why???? please don't answer if you don't know.

Sometimes the problem is permanent.

Suicide, I dont know.
But the worst thing you can ever do is compare miseries . There is always someone better of or worse of then you . I mean every time your depressed you say "come on girl get a grip there are people dying somewhere else "and it makes you feel better then good for you . But thats not the answer is it??
Stupid things get to me the most , burning foot and spraining my leg and stuff dont worry me over much . See it depends on what you can take.

I do agree with what DWM said and I also believe that people also do it because they feel that there is no solution to there problems. They feel that if they continued their life,it would only get worse. My step-brother did it for many reasons I think. I don't really remember right off hand because I was so young,but I do remember the toll it took on the family.

Vin, you know people that commit suicide because of that? can you name a few... i don't know anyone who has because of that!

anyways, i agree for the most part. DWM, nicely said. i need to read in on that. You can never tell someone, and pick them out in a crowd with people who suffer from depression. Some people think they do, but really, they're not big problems. they talk theirselves into it. For a lot of the cases, it's over achievers. they can't handle it. I've heard more cases of people who take too much on in their load and expect so much from people who drink and don't care about it. no kidding!

you are right DWM, some people do just do it for attention and the ones that we should be worried about dont tell us. and when some people do try to commit suside, i think, they dont think that people will miss them. i know some people that do it because of that. and some people wish that they wre never born so they think that if they are gone no one will remember them. i dunno, that what i think at least.

I agree DWM. Usually the ones who don't show their feelings or emotions are the ones that need help the most.

Suicide, in some cases, is being dramatic. I find, when someone talks of suicide as a threat, they're usually looking for attention. Not all people are like that, however. Being depressed isn't just in your head, as people have thought in the past. It's a real problem suffered by many people of all ages, races, genders and orientations. And people do die from suicide, not just dramatic ones. I was reading the paper a while ago. This man killed himself and no one knew. He was really quiet about it. They found him hung in his closet with a bottle of pills. He had real problems, and he never voiced them. He wasn't young, either, he was nigh thirty. I had an old friend at my church that, after I left, committed suicide. I felt really bad, because he had been the coolest guy I'd ever known. There are people out there who hurt, and there are people out there with problems. We just miss the ones that need the real help.

i agree... although no matter how many insults or sufferings i have received, i never thought of suicide or attempting to do that, because i always thank God for letting me live my life.... i mean, just as what stacey897 says, there are lots of kids dying out there and they want to live and its such a pathetic way to end your problems if you commit suicide... i mean, look, suicide isnt going to solve anything... it will only make your parents sad.. worse, give them a heart attack when they see you dead or something.... another, they would be too shocked and probably would think "where did i go wrong as a parent for making my son/daughter do this?" so, please people, dont commit suicide... instead, talk to close friends or let your parents help you out on your problems.... When i have problems, i seek out help from friends or family

I never said I was speaking just about suicide. I've done self-injury too. None of it is a ride on a ****ing ferris wheel. Everything you do that involves short curcuit of self-injury or suicide is something you'll regret.

I completely agree with depressedwavemaster. I've been there. If you are trying to commit suicide, you'll regret it. And I certainly hope that you have thought of the people you will leave behind and the questions that you never had answered. The kisses you never shared with a lover or the secrets you will never share with another best friend. Think of this. It's not fun to hurt. Don't try or commit suicide. It's not something that is meant to be done.

I'm not really sure why people do anything that they do because I'm not them, but I always thought that it was to escape the pain. Not just because they like the feeling of it. That feeling isn't going to last forever but the pain they cause for others in effect will.

Infections can occur as well as damaged vein/arteries. People can cut if they want to, though a more constructive solution is usually better.

Suicide is [usually] about escaping, usually form things you can't handle. Almost everyone has had an encounter with it, whether through themselves or a friend who tried to.
