Why judge other peopel by the way they look that isn't fair it hurt their feeling and how would you feel like if you were in that persons shoe. And you don't even know them you just think they are what they are b\c of what they like to wear or look like

i hate people who jugde you because of the way you look. I live in england so i dont know how it is in america but at my school everyone is split into differnet social groups because of the way they act, dress or even what music they listen to. I used to have a really close friend when we were little but when we went to high school we stopped talking because i was into metal and wore black and she wore miniskirts and listened to pop i havent spoken to her in about 3 years all because of labels.

I agree with EVERYTHING that worth just said! I dont dress that way all the time.. sometimes i wear what some people call "preppy" clothes and stuff like that. Someone caught me on a day when i was wearing more punk clothes. Thats what I meant by not knowing me. The guy didnt know what i wear other days.. if he say me on a day when i was wearing lets say a skirt and tank top or something he probably would have thought i was so preppy chick.. i dunno they are just so outragious. I dont think people should be labels by what they wear.

I don't like labels because when people label you as something, they expect you to always fit into that category and if you do something different one day, then you're given another label - such as "poser."

Another problem with it is not only are you expected to dress to fit your given label for the rest of high-school but you're supposed to act the way people expect you to. Example: If you are labeled as a "prep" then you must be dumb, funny, and obnoxious. (I guess people who actually fit into that label give positive adjectives that mean the same thing.)

It's just a dumb, vicious cycle.

Why force yourself into a label where you have to look, act, and speak a certain way? Just be yourself. Do what you want to do individually. If you still fit into a label, fine, but don't force yourself to fit into a label.

But the main reason I don't like them is because I don't fit into anything. I wear what I like. And I like a lot of different styles. Depending on what day you see me, you may give me a different label. But I never fit one single label all the time.

I dont dress significantly out of the norm. I wear black. and the odd time I wear a pair of jeans with a chain. The other day I was wears black dickies capries, a black and red striped and a spike belt. If its the spike belt that he saw then thats stupid cause there were tons of people wearing them. They are a fad. I like them. Oh and sure, i wear bracelets but the guy completely turned against me when he hadnt even met me.. I dont think Im a bad person (sounds selfish, but its true). i dunno.. i guess it just bothered me.

Well here's a question: Why do you dress a certain way? To because you like the way you look, and you express yourself...right?

Well then, since your style can be a reflection of your personality, and you're wearing it for everyone to see, they can comment on it if they don't like it. Everybody's free to do so. It may not be polite but if you're dressing signifigantly outside of the norms, expect it. And deal with it. Everybody doesn't have to like what you wear and be nice to you.
