I agree. Too many people turn to labs etc if they can't have a baby. They're so deadset to have someone carry their genetic code. I plan to adopt.

Billy, what I was saying was in response to some people who say that being homosexual is a "lifestyle choice". The parallel that you drew between racism and homophobia is quite correct... nobody CHOOSES to be white or black, do they? Well, nobody CHOOSES to be homosexual either. What I was saying was, why would anyone CHOOSE to take on that extra baggage... all those things I listed.

It's not a choice.

Well for most heterosexual males I know....it is. Put a supermodel behind glass and we'll peck at the glass all day(Freud was cool).

But the part I don't like is how everyone is so defensive all the time. It's like walking on egg shells with people in here. IF you say the wrong thing...oh no...here come the PC police. I hear alot of people on here who want to be excepted, but so unwilling to except others for who they are. I read I think your post about making your life hard and getting beat up and this and that. See this happens to everyone, not just gay people. Truth is, if you wern't gay...you'd be black and someone would want to beat you up. Or you might be white and the black kids would beat you up because of slavery which you were never involved in. Everyone has it rough....to think because you are gay makes it harder for you is eliminating the rest of us, because we all deal with it one way or another. If we're all going to get along, we all need to understand it sucks for everyone...not just this group or that group...

I want to thank all of you for responding. Though i have not read all of your replies, I am grateful for all of your posts and oppinons. To those of you who have been offended by this post, please don't be. It was not my intention to hurt anyone - i just wanted to see what REAL people think about this issue which, for some reason, seems to be a big one lately.
What is my oppinion? Well, I dont think sexual prefrences should be any way to judge anyone. I do not find anything wrong with it. Ah, ok i hav to go but i'm not done stating my oppinion. sorry... to be continued.

Many of you seem to see gay people as JUST homosexuals, as if our sexual drives are the sum of our being (how Freudian). Well, we're not JUST homosexuals. We have normal dreams and aspirations, blah, blah, blah... ok, this is getting corny, so I'm gonna stop before I make myself puke. Point is, except for sexually (which is not a big thing), we are no different from straight people. Most don't seem to realize this.

I was thinking something else, too, but I'm tired and inarticulate right now... roofers have been banging away at my bedroom ceiling since 7 this morning.

Right right, but don't you think you also have a barrier built in your mind as well?? Honestly, you most likely wouldn't believe the amount of gay people I know and hang out with, yet I have been attacked on this thread like 3 times. I think everyone needs to get over the witch hunt aspect of life, not everyone is out to get you. And because I make a comment does not mean oh I am homophobic...look at me!! I'm also pretty secure with my sexuality as well. I will sit down with anyone in this world and be able to talk to them about something, plain and simple I been around and take in as much as I can. However I am past the easy stuff and am more then willing to ask to tough questiuons and not have to be PC about everything I do. I think alot of people need to really get used to the tough questions, because the world isn't going to stop for any of us....and calling someone homophobic because they aren't attrackted to men is pretty pathetic, almost as pathetic as calling people ***** all day.

I believe that whatever people choose to do with their... umm, personal dealies... should stay in the bedroom. And I can't believe that an omniscient being such as God could possibly care who I choose to have sex with (well, as long as it's a consenting individual), especially since he/she/it, being omniscient, knows and understands my feelings towards whomever it is that I choose to love.

I dont very much like this idea being thrown around of procreating with the same gender but I dont think that is the intention of most homosexual couples. hopefully.

Exactly, I read about how two women could have a baby. It takes a lab, but a lot of heterosexual couples can only get pregnant with the use of a lab, so it's okay. Oh, and two women can only have females. But it's still possible
