yes some people get pretty riled up over stuff, but yes we all need to chill, stupid words cause stupid wars...I hope we all understand that some day.
There aren't many countries I can't find something I like, I just like it in the USA more. Yes Canadians and Brits and whoever can get on my nerve, but listen to what they have to say...why? Because this is what they feel, now do you care to change how they feel? Or prove them right?
On the other hand, I have to say to the Canadians, we are far more responsible for the welfare of your country then many of you know. Do I want a pat on the back? NO! Just respect, the same I would offer any of you.
No, angel. America's a wonderful country.. we apparently need to up the education reforms, though.. especially in the English grammar/composition department.
i didn';t know this was suppposed to be canada vs.america.. in my opinion ur all being bad citizens to ur country bashing and disrespecting other countries. who really cares what another country;s CITIZEN thinks of our government. if we like it the way it is what else matters. i don't like the fact though that some of you are giving americans a bad name the way ur acting!
hmmm... im not "ranting" if thats what it sounds like...they think we're greedy?? caz i mean...yea theres rich ppl here...but its not lke everyone is...i mean theres like tons and tons of trailer parks around the area i live...but then again...theres more cows in my county than people....no offense to anyone from tioga county!
Ahh. Well, from the non-Americans that I know, they think Americans are typically greedy and wealthy, but they like the ideals of the country.. such as free speech, general freedoms, etc.
from my travelling the feeling i got was that people were critical of the american government. americans get stereotyped as fat and lazy and rich and presumptious, but they are also stereotyped as fun and easy-going too. and lots of non-americans love american culture - whether its pop music and blockbuster movies to jazz and our national parks.

I was also under the impression that most foreigners (i.e. non-Americans) love America as a nation for its advantages, but dislike the citizens.. hence the stereotypes.
But I haven't been fortunate enough to travel abroad, so I'm relying on what others have told me and what I hear, which isn't a very secure basis to judge things by..
Do these countries that hate America hate the country, or just the people who govern it? Just curious..
yea...your right. i agree with you. i am ranting on and on and i feel kind of embarrassed now. but it juz sorta ticks me off to see people bashing the US when they really have no reason to.

A week or two ago, a poet on Def Poetry was saying how the speech that Bush made after 9/11 was the same speech that Bruce Willis made in The Siege. I haven't rented it yet to find out if it's true, but I plan on doing so as soon as I can.
The majority of people in Britain think president Bush is an idiot. Personally I don't like the way he talks in strung-together clichés expecting everyone to cheer - his speeches sound like they're right off a movie script, and not a great movie at that. Also I don't like his policy on the environment. I don't know much about the rest of his policy, don't get me wrong I do not hate the man with a passion, but I don't like him.
Sorry. If it's any consolation, the British hate Tony Blair too.
Generally what I don't like about America is what it represents. The BIG things. BIG, greedy corporations, BIG armies, BIG bombs, that whole 'we are the best', jingoistic arrogance (like, what's all this about being 'leaders of the free world'?).
But despite what that may sound like, I have nothing against the American people. On the whole you're warm and friendly with a great sense of humour. Also, thank God for your television exports because if we didn't have ER, Six Feet Under, 24 etc. there would be very little on tv worth watching.
