i told my closest frinds today. one of them is telling me i had better see a counselor....the other started to yell at me. i don't think that telling them helped me stop, cuz when i got home i cut again...but it did help me see that i don't have to go through this alone. my family still does not know, i am going to tell them soon. in the meantime...im going to get rid of all the "tools" which i used to hurt myself. WISH ME LUCK

I still don't think you should have came on here and said that because some people might be mean to you and it will save a lot of heartache if you told someone you trusted rather than people you don't even know online. I just don't want you to feel bad... Actually, saying things online is way easier than telling something in person. However, because there are so many people online at the same time, it's like standing in front of a crowd and yelling, "I cut, YA" You can always tell someone online, but let it be more personal and talk to them on Intant Messenger or something.
Have a nice day...

Don't listen to Apology. You did the right thing by coming out into the open and by telling someone about it. I am proud of you, even though this is like one of your first posts. Go to the newbie thread.

You shouldn't have came out on here!! Sorry!! Pain is good, it's fun!! No, don't read that last remark. I'm proud that your stopping. I just wouldn't have told YN about it. Not trying to discourage you, but you might do it again if this is the first time trying to stop BUT DON'T GIVE UP! The first, second, third time is the hardest but by the 4th time, you should be getting somewhere. I do wish you the best of luck in that. I'm in the I miss you stage, lol!! It gives me this alter sense of consciousess and it feels good....BUT NO IT'S WRONG, DON'T DO IT.... Pray Punch your pillow Make some voodoo dolls Listen to music Talk to someone DO ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!
Have a nice day...

You know, I actually believe this one. She seems like she's actually trying to stop rather than just getting attention. Maybe it's the fact that's she's taking action. Well, bekah, you seem to be on the right track. Like ICE said, don't bottle it inside yourself...that could have been worded better. Just make sure you tell people. I'm not saying to sit on the roof and scream it, but tell people that you trust, and they'll help you.
Just because nobody understands you, that doesn't mean you're artistic.

Nice risk. I am still struck by this cutting phenomenon. Why do so many cutters come to youthnoise? I rarely hear about cutting anywhere except on this site... Bekah: I'd say getting rid of your razors is a good idea. Tell your close friends, if you don't know how to deal with it, don't keep it all to yourself, that never turns out good. So you seem to be on the right track...but you should see a counselor, maybe your school offers one. There's really nothing bad that can come from it, at the very least you'll learn something. This apparently happens to a lot of kids...and it shouldn't.
