HELP! im 25 lbs. overweight and i CANT stop eating! i eat mostly healthy foods, but i have way to much of it. ex. when im watching tv, every time a commercial comes on i get a snack. if im in the kitchen, even if i came down for something else, half the time i come upstairs with a snack. if someone offers me a piece of candy or something (like on valentines day or around holidays at school), i always take it even though i know i shouldn't. my parents hate it and i hate it cuz its making me fat, but i just dont know how to say no to food! plz help!

Someone had the same problem as you on this site, and this one person gave really good advice. I'm not sure if this would worked for you, but it really worked for me.

Anyways I'm not sure what thread it was, but basically the girl looked through the magazine or w/e and cut out the body of what she wanted to look like. Then she put a picture of her face on the body and put it places like the fridge... And then everytime she went to get food, she saw the picture.

A lot of it also is just asking yourself, "Are you really hungary?"

Keep yourself busy, so you can pay attention to other things besides food. Play lots of sports, read books, I donno, anything that intrests you.

This girl on TV once said, "The taste last for about 10 seconds, but the image lasts forever."
She was an obeese girl, and basically she said everytime she ate, the taste of food only lasted for 10 seconds, but being fat, and looking the way she does lasts forever. Thats what helped her loose weight.

And thats about all the crap I have to say for today. C ya.

I can say hypocrite. I can even honestly call myself a hypocrite, but, sadly, you are the one mistaken here. I do not help people through their problems. I never posed as a saint. I am not a helpful person. I'm what logic calls inconsiderate... you're what logic calls idiotic.

...And I'm sure that you posting about how you want me dead is certainly helping her with her problem. Can you say "hypocrite"?

I have a similar problem, but I'm not overweight yet as far as I know. I'm going to try to exercise more even though I might not want to, it's better then not eating at all. I also won't let myself have more than two snacks a day and I have have an urge to eat more, I drink water or walk around a table until I get dizzy. That helps me forget about eating and it's fun, you should try it.

Hunger is a mental thing. If you can stop snacking for just a little bit, you won't have the urge to anymore. Try eating cheese if you have to. No, I'm serious. Cheese, for some reason, feeds your mental hunger very well. I've lost 20 lbs this way, but I'm still around 170 so I have a long way to go.

The TV Watcher's Workout is by Stu Smith, a guy my dad knows. It's sort of cheesy, but from what I've heard, it's good.

As for the eating thing...I don't know. A co-worker's sister is a dietician, so I'll ask her if she has any tips.

Heh. I love you, Poncho.

Purpledog, I have the same problem as you. I can't stop eating either, because I never seem to get full. But I'm not overweight, I'm underweight. I eat tons of food all the time, but I'm malnourished. So, yeah. I don't know what to tell you.

Here's what I do to stay in shape while watching TV: every time a commercial comes on, instead of getting a snack, I sprint around my house twice as fast as possible and drink a glass of OJ when I come inside.
