Why do some guys have to contribute to a girls lack of self-esteem? For example, my cousin has dyslexia. She's 19 and because of this disorder doesn't know how to defend herself and needs a little extra time when it comes to academics. She has graduated high school and is entering a 2-year college for art then plans to transfer to a private 4-year art college. her boyfriend continuously tells her she has no friends and pokes fun at her going to a 2-year college. Her feelings of self-worth are low as it is but he has to make it worse. Some boys just don't understand that when in a relationship of any kind whether it be romantic or platonic, you shouldn't make fun of someone. Though one may be joking it's not funny. These "small" jokes could lead to far more serious problems then a lack of self worth, because many times the girls suffering have family telling them the guy is no good meaning someone cares. I've seen these situations lead to eating disorders, suicide, and other things. Why, is what i want to know. Why can't everyone be treated the same? And how should one go about trying to help?

What about when your guy tries to make you paranoid? Is loving to mess with someone's head human nature, or what? The thing I hate the most is when I know he's doing it to get under my skin and he's joking around, but that little voice in the back of my mind keeps me worrying. It's like no matter how many times he does it, I'll never learn. I guess it's just some of the things he uses to make me paranoid is what does the trick.

Also, it's a form of being the one in charge. Telling someone what and who they are. It's good to be the dominant one, because of course, society teaches us the leader is always the best person, and that we'll should be more respected (and thus better than everyone else) if we can order other people around. I don't think that's true at all...and if everyone tries to be a leader, dominating instead of co-operating, it's a problem.

Guys make fun of girls because we know the lower the self esteem the easier to get some becomes. I know its cold but its the truth. If a girl thinks shes a peice of SH!T then she will beleive anything we say. Its the truth. Also you need to tell our friend with the eating disorder she need to stop being crazy and grow up and deal with life. *sign* stupid *****s.

I agree with conflictingszest that girls tend to pick on guys more often. Like, if there was a girls night out it wouldnt be fun without tearing apart the men behind their backs without them knowing. And with all this self confidence you have gained by tearing these guys apart girls tend to tell that crap to the guys' face. Either during a conversation or when the guy pisses them off. However, there are guys who like to tell girls their imperfections to make themselves feel better. So I don't think it's mostly based on guys ... because girls do it too. I think guys just tear girls apart in front of their face and girls tear guys apart behind their back. That's what happens. Sorry but you're gonna have to get used to it.

Also she should be able to laugh at hewrself otherwise she won't make it very far i nthis world. Also, HOW DARE YOU BLAME THIS ON GUYS?!?! You think women don't do this to men?? i know of more females who do this to guys then i do guys who to this to girls. Seriously, women have a harsh time not insulting or belittling their boyfriends, why blame it all on guys? Why would see even put her self in that situation. You see I am a guy and I am heatless. But if he picked an poeple before they got togeather then of coarse he going to pick on her. My bestfriend is a girl who had that same prob with her boy. So I told her to get a friend of mine or just fined a person who was beaten as a child. Tell them the situation and they should help clear his mind for making jokes to making dinner reservations in no time and that don't help I can't tell you what else to do. Hope it goes all good bye.
