quote: savanna, i'm impressed. most people don't know anything about it unless they have or know someone with tourrettes. how'd u know all that?
Because anything that could possibly be wrong with the chemicals in my brain, are wrong. Tourettes, OCD, ADD, ADHD, Bi-Polar, you name it, I've probably got it.

All I've ever heard about Tourette's was on Seventh Heaven a long time ago. The kid had tics where he would burst out with a certain curse word. ...I really don't know very much about it at all, sorry.
What if what you think is great, really is great, but it's not as great as something greater?

Oooooh boy. Tourettes, huh? It's a chemical imbalance in the brain, something to do with the level of dopamine. This causes the person to have an overwhelming need to move in a certain way or make a certain sound. These sounds and movements are called tics". The person can hold off the tics for awhile, but must eventually act on them. It's like a sneeze, you can hold it back at first, but you always end up sneezeing in the end. The most common tics are eye-blinking, grunting, throat-clearing, shrugging the shoulders, clenching fists, repeating a certain sound, touching, and jerking. Without treatment, it can progress to the person not being able to function in society. It can be sucessfully treated with medications, but occasional "flare ups" are common in stressful situations. That's all I can rattle off from memory.
