There are so many homosexual people in the world that view heterosexuals in the same way that many heterosexuals view homosexuals. Homophobics are constantly looking down on homosexuals as lesser people. It is our fight to be equal and to have the same basic rights as anyone else despite their sexuality. Why then do so many gay people look down on the heterosexual community? I am not saying all of them of course but it is a common problem just like homophobia. Instead of homosexuals trying to get equal rights they are trying to assert themselves are better then heterosexuals (a standpoint long held by heterosexuals over homosexuals). By switching the tables what have we accomplished but returning to square one? In fact many people who support gay rights are straight themselves. So why condemn the very people who are trying to help us (of course not all of them are willing to help us)? In so doing we are stooping to their level. Hopefully those homosexuals that do feel their share of heterophobia will come to realize that that kind of thinking only hurts our fight for equality.

I still don't see how straight people are AFRAID of us... We aren't the ones that kick their butts cuz they're a certain sexuality, or harass them, or embarass/humiliate them....

Yeah that's enough ranting for now.

i definat;y agree. being a gay teen in america is not an easy job. And by true definition to be "phobic" is to fear and physically condem due to fear. where in the world do u see hetero people being abused, spited, taken advantage of? so there is no such thing as heterophobic anything, especially in a society where anything thats not "normal" is cast away. Take a look at our "new" president

Note that man+man or woman+woman doesn't kill any kids, either, as many making all the ruckus would seem to want you to believe.

WJ, you appear to be condemning all those who don't have kids. Let's go kill all those infertile b@stards!

And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

As I explained earlier, it's not the hateful sort of fear, so much as fear of being injured. People get their ***** kicked for being ***** and for trying to make the world better for other gays that can't do it alone.

And whether or not it was sarcastic it was still rude.

nowhere that I know of. You really don't see people stoning a guy and a girl for holding hands in the park.

-----"""Iceland, that was not only totally uncalled for but incredibly rude."""

Lol, I know. Please wake up and smell the sarcasm.

-----"""There is too heterophobia - it's manifested differently, though."""

Negatory. Where exactly is all this heterophobia?

Not to stereotype or anything, but I think it's more prevalent in much more conservative cities and states, like Montana and Utah or Wyoming or Kentucky or down south or places like that, where religion is extremely prevalent

W/e. GQ you are wrong, this so called "heterophobia" is nonexistant. Or in the very least too minimal to count as existing. Kind of like your penis.

It's not really being boneheaded... Just a bit strong-willed. And that's not so bad. At least, not when someone isn't trying to hurt you....

I agree sleeprocker, although Ididn't even find it that scary when people were trying to hurt me/kill me. Maybe it's because they were only high school students. Or possibly because I am so boneheaed that I stand up for things i believe in and don't back down when I should. Either one.

Okay...I get it. I have nothing against straight people, it's just the homophobes that **** me off. I just wish a lot of straight people knew that homsexuality is NOT a choice. There are a FEW!! lesbians and gay who chose it but they're crazy. I do see what you're saying though.

Yes yes yes crzy. Yes GQ is a mag which is why I like the initials of my noisename (even if they were accidental). I like any and all magazines with cute guys on it. IMHO you are right. It isn't just gays (I had just read an artical on this when I wrote the post) it is many civil rights activists. It goes from a fight for equality to a fight for superiority and that isn't right. It undermines the whole ideal of the civil rights movement. And by the way MXPX I am a Christian, believe in the Bible, believe in Jesus Christ as my personal savior, and believe that I will go to heaven. And I have sufficient biblical evidence to support my beliefs. So have a nice day.

GQ (hey, isn't that a magazine? I'm pretty sure I bought it once in the airport because it had a gorgeous boy on the cover...sorry. off subject.), I completely agree. Sometimes, when a group of people fights for equal their rights, they go too far, and end up with the same prejudice against others that they were trying to overcome. The same thing happens in other areas, like racism. It would be great if when people said "equal", they meant it. Instead, one person/group/thing always has to be better than another. It's ridiculous.
