In both the book Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko and Marvin Gaye's song, there is the idea and question of sexual healing. Even in other books, such as The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, instances of sexual healing come into play. Now I don't want to hear about sexual experiences in graphic detail, but I was wondering what your thoughts on sexual healing are. Is it possible to be healed from something-- like trauma, emotions that have existed within you for awhile, etc-- through sex? Or is it simply a literary technique and a phrase used only in media?

Me personally it doesnt because even though we do have sex thats just pleasure for a little while or however long you go but when everything is said and done the problem still remains. But make up sex is pretty good you get your fustrations out not tryin to sound slutty

altho I have never experienced it, I feel that it is likely possible to get over certain experiences and pains through sex.

Physical contact is important to feeling better from a lot of traumatic events.

My girlfriend and I had sort of a fight--it wasn't ugly or angry, but it hurt quite a bit for both of us-- back when we hadn't been together very long. At the end of it when we both were feeling sort of scared and uncertain about our future together, I kissed her and our fears disappeared with our underwear. So, I don't know about healing long-term or more severe trauma, but makeup sex can be cathartic at least.
