So If I didnt like perfect bodies (36-34-36) I wouldn't be shallow? I just have a little more respect for people who can keep fit over someone who can't.
All right, sorry to butt in here, but if you're going to keep quoting the measurements of a so-called perfect body, you might as well get them right, they're 36-24-36 (36 inches being the bust, 24 being the waist, and 36 being the hips). But these measurements are impossible for some people to acheive due to genetic makeup, etc. I think as long as you're happy with your body and it's within a reasonably healthy weight range there's no reason to change it. There are huge variations in people's views of the perfect body, and there's no way to make them all happy.

"Honestly, I think Anglo women want essentially the same thing as spanish women. They all want curvy bodies, and everything associated with them: food, lust, dance, in short, everything good in life. But, because the Anglo woman supresses this desire, she becomes shrunken and unhappy."
~Spanglish
Heh, the quote wasn't actually verbatim because I can't seem to find it on the net and I'm too lazy to get up and find the part in the movie, but I watched it a couple hours ago so it should be close enough. Anyway, you get the picture. Curves are good, anorexia is unhealthy.

I'm not talknig about the way a person acts, i'm talking about the way they take care of their body.

It's much harder for some people to keep fit then it is for others. Would you have less respect for someone who had a great personality, was really smart, and funny, and pretty but happened to be overweight (I'm not talking like 300 pounds but just a bit on the chubby side) then you would for some stupid, bland chick who also was pretty but fit too?

I'm stating the facts of a perfect body, yours is merely an opinion.
You may be older, but I still know what the real world is like. And if I'm strong enough personally, it won't f*cking matter what I look like. My self-esteem is high enough to prevail. And the image of a perfect body is opinion if you're not shallow.

-The BeAuTy of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides- I think the perfect body is whatever makes you happy when you see yourself in the mirror. The perfect body isn't what everyone else wants, or thinks you should have. I spent most of my high school years wishing i was smaller here or their, and it wasn't until college that i looked myself in the mirror and said you know what i am beautiful.. who cares if i'm curvy as long as i like it. So i think your right if you take care of yourself it doesn't matter what size you are.

are you a scientologist or something?
No, that was just what came to me and it sounded good. I have no idea where it came from. Seriously though, I think that a "perfect body" is one that is healthy. As in, not obese or anorexic. Other than that I think that the "perfect body" doesn't exist.

that is so true. if only ppl in the media could see that. I mean sum media is all like"end eating disorders" and others are like "get skinny in 10 days" I mean I was just on another website and this one stupid girl was saying that beyonce was fat and looked like a cow. she said skinny girls were the best and us fat(aka curvy to real ppl) grls need 2 get on a weight watcher's diet. i was so pissed off. ppl need to be able to accept all different body types--skinny, curvy, evrything-- just accept them for who they r..

Anyways, on the actual topic, I remember reading a Cosmo magazine that polled guys around the US. They like the curvy girls more than the ones with boyish bodies, so starving to be thin when the majority of men don't even like it that much if women are waifs is pretty lame.
So true...psychologically speaking, all men around the worl are naturally attracted to women whose hips are 30 percent larger than their waists...Regardless of their weight. Aparrently that percentage is the standard for fertility or something (and we all know how much men enjoy spreading their seed lol).

Although there may be no specific perfect body (besides the golden ratio-which is a different sort of perfect entirely), there ARE plenty of imperfect bodies. And to ignore that and how unhealthy it is to have an imperfect body is to ignore reality.
An imperfect body could mean just having a crooked nose or a little extra meat on your bones. It doesn't necessarily mean you are one of the extremes (anorexic or obese). It simply means that your body isn't perfect. It's not unhealthy to have a crooked nose or a little bit of extra fat. And IN YOUR MIND, your body can be perfect. Sometimes, it's impossible for a human being to achieve a perfect body. Why should they strive for such and be unhappy when they can just learn to be comfortable with themselves and be happy?
