All of you people that are speaking in a sugarcoated language-- "oh...as long as you are happy with your body, then its perfect" --have become swept up in the idea that to ignore the problem will make it go away. Although there may be no specific perfect body (besides the golden ratio-which is a different sort of perfect entirely), there ARE plenty of imperfect bodies. And to ignore that and how unhealthy it is to have an imperfect body is to ignore reality.

I guess the perfect body is your own...as long as you're happy with it. The perfect model physically is the hour glass shape for a woman. The waist to be 10 inches less then the bust and hips. But mentally it should be your own body. Everyone should learn to love their body and wear clothes that flatter themselves.

You're must not be deep enough to grasp this, bauhaus: Perfect mentally, not necessarily physically.

I cant even believe people can say, overweight people have a perfect body... this really pisses me off. The perfect body would measure up to the golden ratio, the perfect face would measure up to the golden ratio. I'm sure a lot of you have never heard of this, but look it up, it will blow your mind. its the rule of 3rds...

of course there is a perfect body. its something that you consider perfect and feel good about. to have the perfect body you have to do what you think is healthy and sound for you, and you must accept yourself for who you are :-)

Gotcha. Amp, there is actually a thread on that subject. I believe either Jamaica or Bella made it.

I have the same opinion. As long you are yourself and don't be a phony (HOLDEN CAULFIELD word!!), you will be ok.

I dont think there is a "perfect body" and if there is i think its a body that the person is happy with. No one should really critisize anyone else because of their bosy type.. and i think that people who do are either proud of their bodys a little to much or are not very happy with their own body.
I love you moer than life. And i mean that.

There is no perfect body, the body is simply an illusion.

Oh man I had to do a report from these current health magazine for a class in high school to get some extra credit and it was on Barbie and Ken and these guys at some instute in some state worked out what they would look like in real life barbie for example would be so deformed she would have to walk on all fours and ken would have a neck 6 inches thicker than the average adult male hows that for the barbie doll standard of beauty?

because being overweight is healthier than being anorexic right?
Yes, it is. If you're anorexic, you're not getting enough nutrients and it's a lot easier to die that way. If you're overweight...you people forget that there is a huge difference between being overweight (160 instead of 120) and being obese (300 instead of 120). That's a gigantic difference. Overweight means, yes, you're getting nutrients your body doesn't need and doesn't use...but you're not going to have a shorter life if you're just 40 pounds overweight. You're only going to have a shorter life if you're obese and are like 80 pounds or 100 pounds or 200 pounds overweight. So, of course being overweight is healthier than being anorexic. Now...obese and anorexic is kinda fifty fifty...neither one is healthier.

Just wondering, but aren't the ideal measurements for a model something like 34B-24-36 at a height of 5'9"? Haha. I remember trying to get those measurements earlier this year. Then I realized that with my genes, I'll never get more than an A cup, so I went for the skinny waist. I got a corset custom-made and in it went down to 22". Then I realized I was being stupid, but I really thought corsets were comfortable. Anyways, on the actual topic, I remember reading a Cosmo magazine that polled guys around the US. They like the curvy girls more than the ones with boyish bodies, so starving to be thin when the majority of men don't even like it that much if women are waifs is pretty lame.
