I'm going to loose weight this summer. I've already lost 30lbs in the past 3 years. But lately I've been stuck in a rut. I'm an avid excersizer, the only problem I have left is food control. I do weight watchers, but I need to eat less still. My hypothesis is if we program ourselves to be hungrey to eat to feel better when we're upset/bored/angry/etc, then we can unprogram that behavior by programing ourselves to associate hunger with pain. I will eat breakfest, lunch, and dinner to keep the energy I need to excersize. But whenever I feel the urge to eat in-between meals...or go back for seconds I'm going to cut myself. It seems to be working so far. As you can see I am desperate to loose more weight, I WILL be 120lbs by next month. So basically, the point of this topic is to ask anyone if they have any better stratagies for controlling hunger. I eat a meal...and FIVE minutes later I'm hungery again. I feel cutting is the only way to control myself. Help, if you can.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you had the whole 'weight loss' plan figured out until you threw in the word 'cut.'My friend was sort of in your position, and instead of cutting, she put a picture on her fridge, of a person she wanted to look like. The girl looked perfectly healthy and happy, and I think that kind of made her think, "Hey, if I want to look like this girl, I'm going to have to eat healthy, and continue to exercize. I don't need to eat all this extra food when I'm not even hungary."

I think that really helped her. You might want to give it a try.

DON'T CUT YOURSELF, YOU COULD END UP HURTING YOURSELF MORE THEN YOU EVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE.

Tips- Drink water during your meal, you will feel full after the first plate.
Tip2-Brush your teeth when you feel hungry and it's not quite time for supper, you won't want to eat until 30 minutes later.
Tip3-Use the computer when you get hungry and it's not quite time to eat, people usually don't eat at the computer.
Tip4-Don't watch to many shows where people are cooking. You will want to eat.
Tip5- Don't watch to much t.v. period, you will get bored and want to eat while watching t.v.

You can also drink water as a substitue for brushing your teeth before a meal.

It's sad how crazy people get over weight. Before you lose any more weight ask yourself these questions:

What are your motives for losing weight?
Do you believe people will like you more if you drop ten pounds?
Do you honestly believe that not eating when you're hungry will help you lose weight?

Your so royally ****ed already. I've cut. I've been on the brink of an eating disorder. It's not fun. It's not cool. Weighing next to nothing is not an attractive look. You're not losing weight because you don't need to.

Please, get yourself some help.

Firstly, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND!? Secondly, the key is water. Lots and lots and lots of water. And keep up with the exercise. But don't cut yourself for the sake of being thin.

Ok, first of all...the penis isn't a muscle. You can make it "flex" by flexing your pubacoxygial(SPELLING!) muscles, the muscles that stop u from peeing...it is funny though.

No cutting.Cutting bad.So is starving yourself...I'd say if that's the only way you can think of to distract yourself from eating, then you might need help. No offense but, GEEZ!

With respect,

"so by the end of three weeks, he looks like ghandi, but by comparison, he has dramatically increased the size of his manhood."

wow that was out of the blue. and...if you are a girl...how can u know so much about...toning that specific part of the body...and if you are a guy...you must be pretty skinny? lol. i guess that is sort of like...if you eat more (you being a girl) then your chest will get bigger.

Lol. Where did that come from, Illuminatrix? And any man who is 71 pounds is incredibly underweight. Same with any woman even! And also, if he was that malnourished and underweight he'd prolly have such low energy and blood pressure he wouldn't even be able to get it up in the first place.

so you would think that the guy wouldn't want to do all the bodybuilding, and eat as little as possible. so by the end of three weeks, he looks like ghandi, but by comparison, he has dramatically increased the size of his manhood.

Then of course the guy wouldn't have any endurance and would get tired after the first few thrusts. Size is not the determining factor as long as you're not some kind of penis midget. And anyone who thinks otherwise is uncreative and inexperianced. Big Grin

You might want to talk to a doctor or somebody for better ideas though.

i just had a funny thought...

most men have an urge to at least try to make themselves look better. men can enlarge any part of their muscle system through excercise. except one. one small muscle, whose chape can't be changed naturally. so you would think that the guy wouldn't want to do all the bodybuilding, and eat as little as possible. so by the end of three weeks, he looks like ghandi, but by comparison, he has dramatically increased the size of his manhood.

"how was your date, jen?"
"well bob's only 71 pounds, but what a man."

just a thought....

Don't try Atkins, that kills people.

I've lost 20 pounds and gained back 10 because of muscle, you can't help that.

You should really speak to your nutritionist or doctor about this.

~there could be a lot of explanations for why you aren’t your “dream weight”. first off, if you are exercising a lot, it could mean that you weigh more because you have a lot of muscle. i am 5’4, 98 lbs and i thought that starting track would cause me to loose weight, but i actually retained my same weight. my body would burn fat, but exercise would build muscle in my legs so it evened out i think. i’m not sure if this is scientifically correct, but that is at least my view on it because i didn’t change a pound even with all of the extra activity.

~i know that it says this everywhere but i mean it when i say LOW CARB DIETS WORK. don't cut them completely because you shouldn't take anything entirely out of your diet, even sugar. (sugar is however a carb). first off, your body burns off carbs before it burns fat so if you have less carbs your body burns more fat when you exercise.

~as for cravings, i can't say to eat things more filling because that would be *ha* carbs! i am obsessed with grapefruit. really. when i get hungry before a meal, i eat a grapefruit half with a teaspoon of sugar (optional). it makes me feel like im eating healthy and the sugar adds a bit of taste so that it tastes filling too. if you don't like grapefruit, try other citrus fruits.

~i really don't feel like weight watchers is a good program because it makes you count what you are eating which could make you feel even hungrier knowing that you can't have can't have, however, if it is working for you then go with it. when you exercise, spot removal doesn't really work so try something that works on your whole body like swimming or running. i bike a lot and i do high hurdles during track season so i have like no arm muscle which can be a good or bad thing. when you loose weight, your whole body will slim down so don't worry specifically about your legs, stomach, ect. good luck!

Dude if you want to lose weight to be attractive (which is what I guess you're doing) don't cut yourself, you'll be left with scars....those are sooo not attractive.

Yeah that's not the real reason to stop cutting yourself. Cutting is something that has deeper roots than just your average distraction. Get help.

much luv

I would suggest eating organic foods as much as possible. Because they dont have excess "junk" in them the food is digested quicker and easier so less is left behind. This can help you loose some weight
