Firstly, stop cutting because that's as unhealthy as your eating habits.
Secondly, if you feel hungry then eat a HEALTHY snack such as a SMALL piece of fruit.
The best thing for you is water and LOTS of it. Drink as much water as possible. Also, if you get hungry, water will fill you up if you just have a glass or two. If you don't like the taste of water (which I know is true for some people) drink that flavored water---it's just as healthy and has vitamins and will also fill you up.

you're original idea is a good one. You are trying to use cutting as a distraction from eating. But, instead of cutting you should try to use something that isn't dangerous and doesn't hurt a lot to distract yourself.

whatever! the idea is NOT to skip meals!! the thing is, the better u eat the more beautiful u're gonna be n i mean it cos our bodies are made to eat!! but anyways, if the loosing weight this is the problem the more hours u spend without eating the slower u're gonna burn clories - so it makes it all worse. whatever u do, dont stop eating/cutting urself quote: By the way; With the cutting: Nooot a good idea. Instead of cutting, chew on a pen. I know that sounds pretty stupid, but it works. Basically by cutting all you are doing is replacing a bad habit with a worse one.
YAY! SOMETHING I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH lol

hey bauhaus that info on excersice was cool! but just wanted 2 say: first off i dont think being fat is okay at all cos it can b really unhealthy BUT skipping breakfast is stupid. u do need it. but of course u dont need 2 eat eggs n stuff as if it was a a lunch type a thing, but like 2 toasts n a glass of yogurt/milk is needed!! buffyfannum1 u got loads of tips there but plz whatever u do, dont cut urself!! i realli think what ure calling 'hunger' is just anxiety n i get it sometimes too n im sure everybody does but just breath deeply lol i dunno they're things that go beyond food. i did tai chi for a while, thats like a chinese gym n that was relaxing n helped me b less anxious n stuff so maybe something like that can help ya too oh n also, i cant find where the 'coke' tip is coming form :s but coke makes u gain A LOT of weigh. n the counting calory thing will just make u get more obsesive, having a general knowledge is important but u also gotta learn to let go a bit at least. n the 'smoking' thing DON'T plz plz dont its just not a good way to loose weigh all around. im sure u can loose more than 10 lb a year but you're going well so b happi!

Instead, don't diet. Diets are ****ing stupid. Unless you are morbidly obese, and your health is at risk, there's no reason to diet.

okay, so finally someone with the same problem as me...
i'm a really active person. ive been on soccer teams n swim teams since i was like 4-5 years old.
i have also seem to hit this huge glacier where i cant loose weight, or when i get all this excitement about losing it, my self confidence totally washes away.
so when i first started out swimming, as a teen, i lost about 13 lbs (my mother says) but i'm out of shape. my legs n stumache are totally disproportionate to the rest of my body. my excuse growing up was that i am the "big boned" type. BUT IN FACT, my family is really small. my mom weighs like 113 now, and she wants to be 104 like she was in highschool/college (SHE'S NUTs, i know).
okay so my help-- get a thyroid test and have your dr read it. if its medical, do whatever your dr says, and if its just unhealthy, get advice from your dr and go to a diation. I MUST TELL YOU THAT -people who you are paying to tell you what to eat, it doesnt work- its all talk, and no action...
before next year, i'm going to lost 35lbs!!! and i will be like 115, or something so do the math...
ive done atkins, salad diet, and total excersise, it worked some...rite now, i'm eating n gaging myself....

quote: i like the coke idea
Do you mean the delicious carbonated beverage with the questionably addictive flavoring? Anyway, stop whining about your weight and go to a doctor or something. They aren't there for nothing you know.

Here's what you do, count your calories, take vitamins, and exercise as much as possible. Also, Drink as much water as you can stomach, literally. I lost 55 lbs in 3 1/2 months. No joke.

if you did coke you could loose 10lbs in a week, and its no worse then smoking or drinking beer..
but i'll help you out. For several reasons aerobic exercise is the type of training most associated with fat loss. Much of it uses large muscle groups, such as the legs, which burns more calories than exercising smaller muscle groups. Fat can only be oxidized, or burned, in the presence of oxygen, and aerobics literally means with oxygen. Aerobics also promotes the release of hormones known to stimulate fat burning in tandem with exercise, such as norepinephrine and epinephrine.
No one doubts the superiority of weight training over aerobics for building muscle, but many people believe that its a comparatively ineffecint way to lose bodyfat. Typical bodybuilding workouts are anaerobic in nature, which means you rely on stored carbs in the muscle (aka glycogen), as the primary feul rather than stored fat. Recent research, however, disputes the notion that lifting weights will not burn fat.
New studies show that what happens after a workout is as important as what occurs during it. While many people still think aerobic exercise is best for increasing the metabolic rate, or the rate at which you burn calories at rest, the truth is that weight training is far superior.
The increased calorie use following exercise is related to a continued upgraded oxygen use that reflects an increased metabolic rate. This extended use of oxygen is refferred to as excess postexercise oxygen consumption, or EPOC. Studies conducted over the past few years show that EPOC remains elevated for 14 to 16 hours following a weight workout.
Studies conducted on 7 men, average age 22, showed that EPOC was still elevated 39 hours after the workout. The average increase in metabolism was 21.2%, which means they used an extra 773 calories per day at rest. Researchers offer several explanations for the phenomeon. One possibilty is the greater release of hormones, such as norepinephrine and growth hormone. It takes extra calories to remove lactate acquired through intense anaerobic training. The actual repair of the muscle fibers involves an intial inflammatory response, followed by a repair process that uses up calories.
Interestingly, the body prefers to use stored fat to fuel the process, repleshing depleted energy stores in muscles-and using fat for energy requires oxygen. The extra oxygen use could also account for the upgraded resting metabolism.
Finally, the building of muscle itself will increase resting metabolic rates, since muscle burns far more calories at rest than fat. Thus, the greater lean mass, the higher the resting metabolism should be. Taking all those factors into account, it appears that weight training is a useful technique for losing excess bodyfat. Combining weight and aerobics is even more effective, while aerobics alone is an ineffecient way to lose fat

I know this is going to sound awful, but you did ask....Lately, ive been trying to lose weight, but it just wasnt working, and i felt like i was gaining weight. Well, another thing you should know about me is that i smoke. So what i ended up doing was id have a drink or something, then instead of eating tons, id smoke. It was awful, but I did lose like 10 pds in a month.
