Rape in marriage happens.Any time a woman says "no,not now" and a man continues to force himself on his spouse, that is rape.Any husband who would force himself on his wife is a man with problems. No woman should put up with this kind of treatment. She should seek help.Rape does not always involve sexual intercourse. If you are penetrated by anyone, with anything, this too is rape. The most important part of all this is,Get Help to deal with this.Don't be forced into silence, don't let anyone hurt you and walk away.

theres some faulty logic going on there. An e rection is an involuntary response to stimulus, sometmes there isn't even a stimulus. That would be like saying that if a girl being raped had an o rgasm is wasn't really rape. Just because he might be aroused doesn't mean he's willing.

I think rape is wrong of course. And i think its sick that women get raped in America every six minutes. Women aren't the only ones who get raped, men do too, BUT only by other men. It is physically impossible for a women to rape a MAN! Not a little boy, but a man. Women can't have sex with a man unless he had an ********. And if he has an ******** he is obviuosly turned on by it. Thus it is not rape.

I had recently met this guy that was really cool. He was into almost everything I was into. So, everything was going okay, and i thought that we would be able to be friends. Well, around 2 weeks later, I went over to his house to get ready for paintball...I walked into his room...and he locked the door. I was to weak that day because I was sick, and I just coulnd't fight him off. After that I was threatened with my life, if I were to speak about it. I still have problems with trusting people because of it, but I am becoming stronger each day that comes my way. And I hope that no one has to go through it, but if so, I hope they take charge instead of nacking down liek I did. Be strong!!

i dont agree with that statement because if they are severely hurt, they can sue. if you hurt some1 after u are no longer in danger, u can get hurt by the law. happened to my friend's, dad's friend who owned a grocery store in ny. a guy came it w/ a knife and held it to some1s throat. he got the money and ran. the store owner had a gun and shot him. he became powerlized, and the ownr had 2 pay the expenses for living becuz the guy was no longer in danger. a cop said half-jokingly, it would have been better if u dragged him back in2 the store. i got slightly off topic, but u cant just say, who cares if they die (or get very hurt) lawyers will try

Obviously no one here is going to argue rape is good, or that women ask for it, but there are a few questions that might grey the area to some. To clarify, I am not advocating a position or an answer to these questions, I'm jsut asking them to see what you think and how you justify it. There is more to be said here than the simple fact that I abhor rape.
Just a few questions: What about rape in marriage? Is is the same? Is it rape? Mid-coitus (during sex) a woman wants to stop, gets tired or whatever, the man continues, no violence, it's over in a minute. Has she been raped? Same situation but she continues to protest, he finishes, still no violence. ? Is forced oral sex rape or a differnet kind of sexual assault? Can a prostitute be raped if the man has paid? Beyond acting "$lutty" a woman openly seduces and entices a man, striptease, heavy petting, whatever, she has implicity asked for or accepted sex, has not discouraged any of his advances, but right as they are about to go to bed together she stops him playfully. What moral weight or defference is given to this rape (that follows) rather than to the violent stranger on a date rape? What about a couple who get drunk, when sober she said it would be a friendly date, but the alcohol takes over and they have sex. Is someone to blame? Was it rape? Was she acknowledging the risk of sex/rape by engaging in behavior that could forseeably lead to sex? What is the moral weight of knowing the person, being violent, verbal coersion, and other factors? And lastly, and most controversial: what about statutory rape? How does differnce in age factor in?
Whaere can we draw the line, a clear and distinct line?

1 in 3 women will be raped in her life time.
A rapist will sexually assault 8-16 victims before he is caught
Thats some scary statistics

I'm sorry for you all rape survirors. It really bugs me when people write about rape- in stories and such- and take it so lightly. And when people assume only girls get raped, only "pretty" girls or girls that dress ****ty, and so on. It can happen to anyone.

i wonder where the males are that have been raped. i always hear that females are getting raped, which isn't fair to just say that females can only get raped. i am a rape survivor and a male so i have to tell people that i have been raped even if they dont believe me.

They should be way harsher. Not to the point of death (I'm so against the death penalty), but about as harsh as you can get. The rapist causes major psychological damage to the victim. No person should have to deal with that kinda of emotional distress and pain. A rapist, under any circumstances, has no respect for people and should be punished for it.

well being a victim of rape.. i know what it is like to have the nightmares everynight... and the guys who raped me got away with it on a technicality... which really scares me cuz they can come back to me anytime they want. and i do arm myself now. and i find myself trusting no one.. what really makes me mad is this is how i lost my virginity.. and that is something i can never get back. and i wish that they got in trouble.. but they didnt. so if anything i think the laws should be harder on them..

I agree. Woman who rape men should get the same punishment that men get for raping woman. But that wasn't really the topic.

Kilo, I totally agree w/ you. I think rape is such a horrible crime. The worst part about it, is that it can happen to anyone. There is no sure fire way to stop rape from happening to you, besides have a body guard 24 hours a day, but I think the best way to help prevent it is to be cautious and careful. And to be informed about what you can do if you are ever in that type of situation. I hope your friend is doing ok, I can only imagine how difficult this was for her.

I think more women should arm themselves . . .
I mean, who cares if you shoot and kill a rapist? It's better than being a victim.
