Yeah...I figured that out one day when I had an annoying zit and I didn't have anything else. It is anti-bacterial, so I guess that's what does it...

Also, if you are in a pinch and don't have any other products, Purel will reduce the size and redness of zits within a matter of an hour or so. Other products work better, but if say you are at school and you've got a zit driving you crazy...it does the trick!

I just got that new clean and clear fizzing cleanser...it is amazing! It clears out blackheads pretty well, and it feels so cool! As far as stuff to really clear up acne, I recommend retin-a. I tried some when I was in Mexico last year and then I got a prescription for it once I got back home and it has really cleared up my complexion. If you want to go natural, just drink water. If you drink tons of it (aside from having to pee every 15 minutes) you will be amazed at how great your skin looks...

Bull. I'm a tanning bed expert. I HAD to take tanning bed treatments thanks to a skin condition, and it had little effect on my acne. As of now, what works is, well, washing my face twice daily, and keep my bangs un-greasy, and no use of hair gel or anything (not that I need it).

Wow, you guys are all hyped up on skin drugs. Sorry for those of you who suffered from side effects. I usually use more natural products (like those from Origins) as they don't screw up my skin, but rather help its blackheads, etc. Not to say that I have a flawless complexion, but weekly mud masks help remove blackheads and whatever redness incredibly well.

Yeah, but NOTHING I have tried has fucked up my face as much as Proactive...hell, I tried it on August, and my face is still suffering from being dry thanks to it...I used to have a nice dewy skin thing going on...shit...

I'm not sure about seizures but yes there can be some serious side effects. Every month they need to check my blood and stuff and I have to take a pregnancy test because if I do get pregnant (which is highly unlucky as the male reproductive organ makes me physically sick) it will cause serious birth defects. And yes it cleared up my blackheads quiet nicely.

Proactiv caused an extreme burn and rash and all that shit to my face. It has benzoyl peroxide.

acutane is the bomb. I was on it for a day when every single zit on my face dissappeared, never to return.

I go with a combo of a few things... but I still have blackheads and the occasional whitehead. Erythromycin - orally taken pill twice a day Benzoyl Peroxide - face wash that supposedly cleans pores, works great for my mom, not so well for me Retin A - supposed to be used for breakouts, but it really dries up the skin and can be a real pain in the neck (irritates, burns, itchy and doesn't seem to work all that well, either) I really like Noxzema though, and have often substituted Benzoyl Peroxide with it and find it works just as well. I've been interested in the ProActiv solution, does anyone use that? Is it as effective as it's portrayed? As I said before, I have a problem with blackheads.. so I'm most interested in ways to get rid of them. (I have tried Sea Breeze and Phisoderm on them as well; neither work.)
