That reminds me of this one part in a movie where the main characters are in a health class and the teacher goes, "If you have sex, you'll get pregnant, get an STD, and DIE."
I think that was in Mean Girls but I'm not totally sure...

That is exactly how every sex ed. course I have been through has been taught and exactly what the health books at my middle school said and what the ones at my high school say now.
I live in Georgia so Christian belief is pushed everywhere, especially in school. Also, what Bush says is like Gospel here.
In 7th grade, when we had sex ed., everyone was required to stand up and take an abstinence pledge. The class had about ten girls in it and two of those girls have gotten pregnant so far.
I recently completed the high school sex ed. course here. I think the whole point was to scare people into not having sex. It consisted of horror stories and stuff. Also, we were given an activity book that had the same sheet mentioned by others in earlier posts that said abstinence is 100% effective and how condoms don't work.
I, personally, am planning to not have sex until marriage, but I'm not ignorant enough to expect every other teenager in America to do the same. Bush needs to realize that most teens have sex, they are going to keep having sex, and unless someone teaches them about protection, they are going to have sex and eventually recieve an STD or get pregnant.
Also, the program at my school degrades birth control and such so much that I'm sure some teens think, "Well, if condoms don't work, I'm not going to even waste my time with trying to use them."
In my opinion, abstinence should be taught alongside safe sex so teens can make their own choice and not have the government controlling one of the most personal decisions of their life.

Bush is dumb. He's against abortion...but he doesn't want people to have birth control. He is against abortion...but he doesn't want people to have the morning after pill. He is against abortion but he doesn't want to teach safe sex? Everything that could possibly prevent abortion from being an option he is against. Geez...he actually thinks the country is going to stop having sex. HA...I laugh in his face. HA HA HA HA HA!! People are more sexual now than ever...but not teaching safe sex it is just spreading ignorance. But what can u expect from Bush?
*Opinions are like @$$holes...everybody's got one*
people act like so much has changed over eons of human reproduction. "These Days" have been happening sence some primates decided that becomming bipedal would be advantageous. Nothing has changed but the press the situation gets.
We still supress and repress emotion as a society, pervert and distort the action of intercourse. Nothing has changed except for where the flashbulbs and cammera's are pointed.
I am a virgin for reasons aside from health, religion, or circumstance. I dont enjoy intimate contact. Its also the reason I can never keep a girlfriend.
Abstinence is a personal choice and nothing more. What you choose to do behind closed doors is your own business. No one can tell you how to live your life but they can give you tips. If you do choose not to stay abstinent, atleast be safe. That's the only advice someone can offer that can't be denied.
But people don't. And "these days"? What's so special about "these days"? And it isn't necessarily teens that started it; if you go way back, you might discover a different generation and the slow progression of a sex-based media led up to how most teenagers perceive the value of sex and its effects.

do you know anyone who has broken a condom during sex?

He doesn't believe in birth control because that is a belief enforced by the catholic church.....
....i don't get what you are saying are you saying that the chatholic church inforces birct control or doesn't...because if you saying that they do then you are stronlgy mistaken they dont at all...and if you are saying that they don't then nevermind
thats a lie bush is not against birth control and though hes against abortion he favors it in cases of rape risk to the mother or incest and prove that he is against it if its true!
its up to a person what they want to do with their body...so if someone wants to break abstinence, they can and they should be able to use protection for themselves...also if someone wants to practice absitnence, they can and it wouldnt be a great crime
on the other hand, if someone were to be raped, protection like the morning after pill would indeed help satisfy the economy by reducing the chance of another orphaned baby, another issue that a parent has to deal with...
i am totally all for the right to practice whatever you want to practice under your own consitutional rights and about getting the protection that you would need to stay safe
About the Bush thing. He doesn't believe in birth control because that is a belief enforced by the catholic church. However, I go to a catholic school,...and in health class they say to remember to have safe sex is you aren't going to abstain...a liiiittle hypocrytical don't you think? They say "use condoms and don't get STD's" but then they say, "If God wants you to have a child, you shouldn't let birth control get in the way." but does God want 12 year olds having kids?...*ponders*
I've sworn to myself and God that I would/will abstain for sex before marriage but geez is it hard.
The first bf I ever loved, was also the first bf to dump me. I've had 5 other bfs before him and I guess I was always the first to the punch, then in my longest, best relationship I get dumped and sometimes I wonder...If I had told him I loved him like I planned if we would still have broken up. My friend slept with her bf and when I found out I yelled at her and she said, 'But I love him.' and then, a month later, she hated him hated him hated him. You don't want your first to be with someone that you hate thinking about a month later. Marriage is forever, bf's are (let's face it) temporary.
Abstinence is taught in schools, though. The teachers aren't like "OK! your 12, time for sex! By the way, use a condom!" THey tell you abstinence is the only way to ext. ext., but they do tell you, If oyu can't keep it in, do it safe.
O of where dost thou hail, Celephanil, Celephanil? Why dost thou wander in Tengelwar great, why on the sea do you sail?
i think abstinence should be taught in the schools, instead of just teaching how to use a condom. thats basically saying i dont want u to have sex, but heres a condom just in case.by giving us the condom ur saying its ok to have sex as long as im safe and use a condom. but i guess it cant all be blamed on the adults. really it all comes down to the individual. if a person wants to have sex they are probably going to have sex. all you can do is hope they know what they are doing, teach them whats right and pray they are ready for the consequences that may follow.
