Okay, I was really trying to stay out of my own post, but you can't say that life began billions of years ago! This is another topic, but my question is perfectly fine. Life began when God breathed the breath of life into man.

Life is a never ending cycle that started several billions of years ago. An acorn is "alive", and a potential tree.
The cycle of life has been going on since life began. You need a better question.

Many people believe that life only begins after the fetus could theoretically survive on its own, without the mother. But under scrutiny, this statement is meaningless. All human beings have necessary conditions and restrictions placed on their survival: Older people may need help bathing or eating, adults need companionship and routine medical care, children need adult role models and help meeting their basic needs, and infants need all their basic needs - food, shelter and love - met for them. We do not believe that infants are not really people because they are not self-sufficient, so why should we believe that a fetus' need for its mother's womb makes it less than human?

That's a really hard question to answer, even I don't know entirely what my opinion is. All I know is that I think as soon as the heart starts beating, it's life. I think that's the 6th week or something. I don't know if it actually starts before that, or whatever.

"Life" begins at conception, but this not to be confused with a pro-lifers idea that a fetus should not be aborted. A fetus is alive but it is a potential human being, nothing more. The fetus is not protected by the rights that a fully sentient being has. If we were basing our ideas off what a "pro-life" person believes, the act of masturbation could be considered murdering a human, because a male is killing a large amount of potential humans when they **********.
