So I've read two articles in the past two days, both on how girls today are dressing immodestly and showing too much skin. This does not concern just everyday clothes, either, but Halloween costumes as well. Thoughts on this? Are girls showing too much skin? Or is society too proper? What about guys? Does the same go for them, or is it a double standard?

i think its alright to show some skin but i believe theres a line that shouldnt be crossed. Like theres girls who wear shorts with there ass hanging out literally. and some just show the most possible. i say girls who do that do it to get attention. and then they wonder why they are reffered to as hoes :/

There's a time and place for everything. Who made up the line for what's "too" sexy and what isn't? I think it's the person and their parent's decision of where the line needs to be drawn. Let me tell you though, it's crazy seeing some girls now a days and I think "Wow, we never wore stuff like that."

Girls AND boys should be dressing age appropriate. It's all too much we see young people trying to look older than they actually are; they want to grow up so fast.

I just hope it doesn't advance to a 10 year old trying to dress like an 18 year old.

I think part of it also isn't just the clothing fashion (fashion always changes) but it pulls in a whole 'nother discussion on make up.

This is why I disagree with the whole concept of clothing period, at least how it's seen today. People care too much about what who's wearing today. Not just girls but guys do it too. It's just stupid. I say go naked...but since that's not really socially acceptable, "WEAR WHAT THE FUCK YOU WANT!" I am very much for girls dressing sexy if they want, not just because I'm a bit of a pervert, but because restricting women to so called "modest dress" is an age old form of sexism. Women used to be carted off if they wore bathing suits that were "too showy" & refused to "cover up". I say go for it, you guys fought for your rights to do/be/wear/say what you want just like us guys so if you want to "flaunt what ya got" do it. Just don't get pissed because I look.
Now, when it comes to young young people (i.e. younger than Jr. High) they should be careful about what they wear because there are a lot of sick fucks out there. But don't dress them like the Michelin Man either. Let's find some balance. Ok?

lmao wow. umm i think they way you dress gives a person there first impression about u. dressing sexy is fine if it is done with class. dressing sexy does not mean showing off your skin, for big girls or skinny girls. i believe this post is more referring to dressing slutty. if your going to dress slutty, your going to be treated like a slut. girls will hate. mans will only want you for one thing. so thats your decision. i dont suggest it. you'll get more respect out of society if you dress classy, not trashy. and by classy i dont mean fuckin office wear or formal wear. just show that you have self respect and others will respect you for it. and be a good influence for the younger generation. being a slut is not cool.

Guys are very visual, give them something to imagine about! Hint at things, don't show them off. Girls younger than 10 don't have much to pick from when they go in the store that doesn't reflect on a celebrity. Most celebrities have had problems with their dress and life styles. Do we really want the children of today to be modeling themselves after that? A lot of clothes are stylish and cute, even if they show so much skin, but I think that the vast majority of Americans are desensitized to how they look.

Agreed, pretty much.

So I know how you all seem to feel about teenage girls, but what about girls younger than 10? Are clothing options for them getting too sexy?

I don't see anything wrong with it. Just because they wear an outfit they think is cute doesn't mean they're gonna be a prostitute. You can't prosecute somebody for having a bit of fashion sense. If they wanna "flaunt what they've got", let 'em.

They gave me the end, but not where to start; Not how to build, but to tear it apart.
