Can you imagen be a teenage girl pregnant? The thought has crossed my mind more than once. The feeling of being lost and not knowing what to do. How am I going to take care of myself let alone another human being? frown What about food, clothes, diapers, health care? Im just not ready for this! You want to be able to know that you and your child will be safe. Clincs can help but you also need the support of friends and family. What are your opinions on all of this? confused

i dont have a child or my own nor expecting a child. but i've practically raised 2 of my youngest cousin. i was only 13 when my less than a year old cousin's nanny left to have a family of her own and my aunt dont have anyone to leave her went she goes to work (playhouses or daycare centers are not common here). our house is nearest theirs so she would leave my cousin with me to take care... since then, ive been my cousin's regualr babysitter and i took on doing that with her little sister... even if i dont have to buy anything for them, the work was never easy. i have to discipline them and teach them stuffs and it's really a tough job. but now with them being 4 and 8yrs old... i can see that ive done a pretty good job... my little baby girls (as i fonly call them) are growing up beautifully and im very proud of themSmile

So last school year, in my high school, I noticed so many people were pregnant. I know some of them kept their babies, and they are just the most adorable little babies! I know, of course, most teens don't plan on having a baby, it just... well, happens. And I also know that, many people in my school have gone to the clinic to see if they were pregnant, and some even got abortions. Now, for a person to find themselves having an unexpected pregnancy, it is a scary thing, I'm sure. But it is up to the person to decide whether they wish to keep it. Being a teen mother is a whole nother story. But I can see that the two teen moms who had their child two years ago and last year, are great mothers, and one of them graduated, and the other is still in school, but is going to graduate. So they both seem to be doing great! I think it all depends on the person and if they an handle having a child and managing their life.

It should be noted that unwanted pregnancies and STDs aren't limited to teenagers.

Besides, if this is all about preventing pregnancies and diseases (and I know it isn't), why not use condoms and oral contraceptives? If used properly, they're extremely effective. And it's certainly more likely that a teen is going to swallow a pill than abstain from sex.

I have the ultimate solution to teens getting pregnant. I have a way for teens to ensure they don't get pregnant and they never get an STD. Its a crazy theory I have been working on and have not yet had a chance to get it peer reviewed but here we go:

Don't have sex.

There. Follow that simple instruction and teens and young children should not get pregnant.

That is a crazy theory. I haven't heard it before. Good work notsojoey.

You might want to actually talk to the father about this, if it's true. IF it's true. That's a big if.

Monkey, you should give it up for adoption. You realize that you messed up, don't ruin this kids life just because you think having the baby will make up for your mistake. I am sure in your heart you know what the right thing to do is.

She ended up pregnant at the age of eight?
